    1. As recently stated, you wont be picking and choosing your options in a ranger because they have beeen discontinued.
    2. As a result, any ranger you find in a dealer for a trade, the dwaler better be GIVING YOU money for your truck over a ranger.
    3. There was a reason ranger are no longer made. Its because they were shit compared ro toyotas. Any ford people who argue there was a different reason are wrong. It was because they couldnt compete with tacomas. How many new rangers do you see droving around compared to tacomas, or evem nissans? I dont see many. I doubt you would be happy with a ranger after owning a tacoma.

Answer: you mentioned before that you have never owned a vehicle more than a couple years and you dont like the bigger 2nd gens. So find a 1st gen automatic with 200k miles or so and jump on it. Then if you still dont like it you will get back what you paid for it, and if you do, a tacoma with 200k will have plenty of life left.

So, what is the difference between an engine and a motor?
Motors are electric. Electricity powers motors.
Engines are powered by some sort of pressure or combustion, ie: steam engines, automobile engines, diesel engines.
    Pretty simple, really.

I am a Ford Diesel Tech at a Dealership, here is what I can tell you about Rangers, not much but a couple things I see. First and foremost the 4.0 is prob one of the best motors Ford ever put out besides the diesel 7.3, the 4.0 will go and go and go. They are amazing, see 300k on these things regularly. Rangers on the other hand are generally very overpriced, I dont know where you live but this is especially true in California. One more thing I can tell you is the limited slip Ford has, absolutely sucks ass. No mater truck, car whatever, Ford just cant make a good limited slip. Idk what comes in the 2012 Ranger but just letting you know about that.

The only Ford Ranger I would buy would be the one sold in Australia. The ones I see in the states are driven by old people and bros. :D

Why should I be mad? Problem? Yes!! I think you should tell them to fix it!! And I'm not your bro. (Reading comprehension is not your friend). And I'm certainly knowing that you aren't mine. Well of course, unless you have the same parents as I!! :)

The 7.3 diesel was an International Harvester engine meant for tractors. It isn't a Ford-built engine. And it was the stinkiest, noisiest, dirtiest diesel in a pickup ever produced.

My point wasnt that the Ranger was a bad truck, just that it rode a lot rougher. My sons 4 cyl automatic was has been trouble free for 7 years & 50,000 miles and gets 30 mpg. The best my Tacoma has gotten is 29. Whats up with the Ranger hater BS, grow up.

I almost bought a Ranger 2WD in 1990. The rear differential seized up on the test drive. After walking 2 miles back to the dealer I bought a Toyota 2WD 22RE the same day for $5500. Sold it in 2006 for $1600 with 197k miles on it. 30% return on my original investment after 16 years.

Much rather rock a 4.3 vortec, people drop these in tacomas, dune buggys, never see a ford 4.0 being dropped in anything worth while....

Those vortec 4.3's are solid engines.
