Hmmm....... thanks for the pics. I don't really think I can accomplish what I want to with your tonneau cover. I'm gonna have to look more into this. Ideally, I want a hard rolling tonneau with a bed rack like allpro's bolt together one. I'm trying to make it so I can use the rack to support my rtt so I can transition from my m416 trailer.

 

Well 4 Tacos showed up at the deal.....just not mine. Hoping for Monday now. the suspense is killing me.

Dang man I feel for you! I called in sick the day mine arrived to go get it. To get a good deal I had to go to a dealer 2.5 hours away.

 

One option I was thinking would be if the flange from the bed rack that bends down into the truck was just that (a strip of metal) that the hardware attaches to for locking into the bed rails underneath, you could dremel out the four slots in the cover's side rails that the flanges would slip through and seal around them with silicone. Does that make sense? I think it's a great idea you're going for and totally has me intrigued on how to make it work.

 

That is exactly how I'd do it. But I think I'd have to see how the side rails mount exactly. I don't believe there would be any compromise to the tonneau at all in terms of fitment or strength.

 

I don't think there would be any compromise at all. I think it'd be a awesome setup. Have all the bennefits of the bed rack and the security of the tonneau.

I was also thinking a great setup would be an easy on/off soft top that could go over a roll up tonneau.

This. Right here. The only thing I wonder about is will it work with your tonneau considering the distance between the rails will be decreased by the thickness of the mounting plate the bed bars are attached to. Hmmm..

So what are your future plans for your truck?

 

I'll be if you took a caliper and measured the thickness and told them they could adjust the mounting location down by that much. I really look forward to seeing what you get to work.

Was looking at the C4fabrication Lo-Pro bumper but now leaning towards a Pelfrey full hoop front bumper. Both weigh 70 pounds. Which ever I go with I'd like to do the matching rear bumper as well.

As well as get the rest of the RCI skids.

Now paying for it all is the big hurtle

Kbvoodoo's looks like it would work too. Though it looks like it may be close to the end of the slot. If it was longer then it'd be golden. Had him send me a pic.

The four cuts wouldn't be very wide either.

 

Truck looks sick! I have a 2016 TRD OR in Quicksand. Love the truck and love all the mods available thus far.

 

toynado, did you use add-a-leafs or blocks in the rear? picked up my Taco today also, finally.

 

Looking sharp! I'm loving mine as well. Best part is it looks as good dirty as it does washed. i actually put off washing cuz I like how it looks splattered
