I agree with the review of the snow claws. I ran then for two winters and around 60'000kms studded and found they were a great fit for someone commuting on the highway as they are quiet, handle well and are quite surefooted at speed. Downsides as mentioned are deep snow... it's easier to just avoid deep snow with the snow claws despite the name and slow speed driving like around town. I suspect the slow speed issues is partially related to and a compromised to get such a quiet tire as the studs will be "absorbed" by the tire at lower speed until centripetal force throws them into the ground at highway speeds. General tires never seems to grab my attention but maybe i'll give them a try since the snow claws are bald now and i'll need a set for next winter

Knowing very little about tires is there something that may determine weather or not you have balancing issues with the wildpeaks?
Perhaps its a shop thing some places have better equipment or techs?

Love my Duratracs and they do great in the snow and works just fine for my needs, but if I did a lot of Highway driving, I would want a dedicated winter tire. Braking distance would improve going that fast.

If you are getting dedicated winter tires that you can also trail run with I vote Duratracks, they are awesome in the snow for a big chucky AT tire, that being said they were good on e dry trails, but as they age they suck on highways and asphalt streets, very noisy and very stiff.

Only one winter on my Wildpeaks but they were great in our eastern Canadian winter, which was mild for us in Nova Scotia. They ride smooth and are pretty quiet. No complaints so far.
