Just changed out my Toyo Open Country R/T. 285/70/17 to Toyo Open Country AT3 305/70/17. Definitely a ride difference. The AT3 ‘s so far meet my expectations.

How would you say they ride differently? I am thinking of getting some toyo open country at3 because of the low weight in the size class I am going to run.

I’ve had some 34” (285/75/17) Toyo AT3s on my 3rd gen 4Runner for about a year and a half now and they are great tires. I have Wildpeaks on my Tacoma (265/75/16s) and I like the Toyos the best. They ride a little smoother, a little quieter, were easier to balance (and this is all comparing a 34” tire to a 32”), and they do a little better in the snow too (although I’d say both do better than average in snow compared to other A/Ts I’ve had). I’ll most likely buy a set of the Toyos for my Taco when the Wildpeaks need replacing in a couple years.

The R/T’s were definitely a bit noisier than the AT3’s. The wet roads is the biggest difference, the R/T’s would get loose and the more worn they became that slip would travel. I still haven’t taken them off road yet. I’ll have a better idea once I experience different terrains.

Good to hear you're happy with the AT3's. I have the same wildpeaks as you on the taco now and am waiting on the exact same AT3's you have on the 4runner to replace them. Ordered them in January and still not expecting them until June so hoping my wildpeaks make it that long. The AT3's wearing ok after a year and a half?

I had AT3's on my Jeep before my Taco. Put on AT3's last month because I was so impressed with them. Great in the winter, on trails, mud, rock, and in the dunes. Highly recommend them.

I only put about 3K miles/year on the 4runner, so can’t say about long term wear. So far they are wearing perfectly tho (still look almost new) with about 5K on them.
