    Hi All,

I wanted to get feedback from anyone that has ran Toyo Open Country M/T tires on their Tacomas. I am considering purchasing a set but want to make sure I'm making the right decision. I love the look and feel of the tires, however 80% of the miles I put on them will be highway miles. Obviously I will maintain consistent tire pressures and rotate them every 5K miles but I wanted to see if anyone could provide any feedback and real world experience as to the actual tread life and performance that I can expect from them?

    Thanks so much

Go for bfg ko2 instead. I think they ride great on and off road

I don't run the MTs but have friends who do. They're a great tire. That said, they're also loud and don't help your fuel economy any. I would recommend getting something slightly more highway oriented that performs well enough off road - for your stated uses. I went with the Toyo M55 and am very happy on all fronts.

My dad has about 50,000 miles on his toyos. (Just about bald)

Pros: long tread life (you'd probably get about the same lifespan out of most mt tires out there). Performance is decent. Looks definitely aren't bad either.

Cons: these tires are HEAVY. Adding heavy tires will take a noticeable toll on your power and gas mileage. They are also noisy. But hey... It's a mud tire.

    I don't think you'd regret buying them.
