Hey guys, looking for opinions/experiences/etc between Toyo Open Country and Falken Wildpeak AT tires. I've read reviews but want to hear from you guys as well. I've narrowed my choices down to these two, but now I'm torn. My truck is my daily driver so I need to keep gas mileage, noise, and practicality in mind. It's a 2WD that plays in the desert 2-3 times a month so I don't need anything too crazy. Let me hear your thoughts!

At that point if you're torn between the two, just go off price and looks. Both are good tires.

Wally world has the Yokohama AT for 120 bucks a tire that was my pick. Except I made America's tire price match and bought from them.

Plus your Sig is a 2019 what's wrong with the factory tires?

I was looking at both of these, but got talked into a set of Cooper Discovery AT3 XLT. I don’t think you can go wrong off of any of them nowadays, so like others above mention, go off of looks/price.

Toyo A/T II for sure. I put 60K miles on my last set and they were perfect. Make sure you get the LT version.

I ran Wildpeak A/T3Ws in the 265/75r16 SL flavor for 1000ish miles and they were terrible. Six trips to discount tire and seven tires later, they still had a terrible wobble around 55mph. Thankfully discount tire swapped them out for another brand and I was not stuck with them.

I did the same thing at discount tire (same company). Their list price for five 35s was $1300, and after getting them to price match walmart, and extra negotiation, I got it down to $1300 for five 35s, with certificates, mounted, balanced and tax.

Wildpeaks are a cheap tire, no offense anyone but they cannot hold Toyo's air. They are not on the same level.

I’ve had excellent results with Toyo tires in the past. I’ll be getting them for my taco when the time comes.

I just put on a set of Wildpeaks a few weeks ago, and so far, I like them. I'm on road most of the time, and they are quiet. I expect them to wear pretty fast, but they drive well and are pretty inexpensive. I've run Michelin LTX's for years. Very good, but just wanted to try something different. Coopers AT's were only available in 10 ply for my size, and I didn't want the extra weight.

AT2's are a better tire, but more expensive... less aggressive "looking", but more capable. Also consider Nitto Ridge Grappler if you want better mud traction... though they are louder, heavier, more expensive, with greater rolling and wind resistance (lower gas mileage). For my use, Ridge Grappler was the better tire (needed much better mud traction and stone rejection for my gravel drive and fence line).

If you are on asphalt and commuting 90% (maybe some snow/ice)... AT2. On a budget... WildPeak. Got mud/gravel/offroad? Ridge Grappler.

You are going to get all kinds of fan boy posts about tires. I’m not 3g but I’ve had both. Here is my experience in 285/70/17 with both tires

    Toyo at2 - Wildpeak at3

Last way longer - Wear down quickly
Easier to balance - Can be a bitch to balance
Dry rot very badly - Very little dry rot
Quiet riding - More quiet riding
Suck in rain - Grab very nicely on wet surfaces
Great in sand - Good in sand
More $ - Can be found very inexpensive
Good in loose dirt - Better in loose dirt

I can’t report on snow or mud.
I prefer the wild peaks and depending on size they are near half the cost of Toyos.
Can’t go wrong with either one. Good luck, hope this helps

I had the Toyo AT2 and the only downfall is they loved to pick up rocks.

My brother in law had the Falkens & he took them off after 15k miles because 3 of the 4 wore uneven
