TOYO open country R/T vs BFG KO2.

Please share experiences with each and the positives and negatives. I can get the R/Ts for about $100 more than the KO2s in the same size. Just worry about tire life longevity (tread life and the worry of dry rot over time).

I've had booth on my 1st gen and very much preferred the BFG's. The Toyo's were noisier and not as smooth. I will say that the Toyo's were excellent in the snow though.

KBRO2. or Falken wildpeak at3w had both. There is a reason the KBRO2 is one of the best selling tires. The Falkens are great for the price. Got mine on Amazon for 108 a tire. They are like 120ish normally

I have the 265/70-R17 KO-Bros and have no complaints. Good looking, so far great in the snow, and as far as noise, they seem quiet nor have I noticed them. I was impressed in the mud/ice when off-roading. I have no experience with the other tire, but good luck.

I've got Toyo Open Country AT's on my truck. Have put about 25k miles on them, rotated regularly. The wear seems normal, and they're a smooth ride. No complaints.

Owned KO2 going back to when they were only KO's. On fourth set. Only complaint is that they get a little noisy at the very end of their useful life. Not noisy. But you can hear them then.

BFG/michelins soft rubber dry rots quicker then most other brands. But this is only a problem if the vehicle sits for long periods of time. As long as the sidewalls are getting exercised, they will remain supple

I love the RT's. They look great, dont make noise and wear evenly.

I like my Toyo RT's second set for me started at 265 and now on 285. I do not think they make much noise at all- much less than some others

I tried the Toyos and they were surprisingly noisy. The KO2s are awesome and will remain my go-to tire.

I have the Toyo's, great tire... they wear well and are not that noisy. Its really all about personal preference.

Here, if you care how your truck looks to the ladies has any bearing on your decision, let me relate something my wife said about the Toyo tires. We were in a parking lot the other day and I showed her a set of Toyo's on a Taco. (I just bought the KO2's yesterday in 255 75 17) She got that eeeeuuuu! look on her face so I dropped it. About a half mile later she said, "You know how you see an old fat man sitting on the beach in his bathing suit, and he's got all this hair growing out of his back?

    Me: "Okay?"

Her: "That's what that tire reminded me of."

THAT, and the several compliments I have gotten over the years on the appearance of the KO's is why I went back with the KO2's. SHE drove three sets of KO's on a 4Runner, so I guess she is somewhat of an authority on the subject.

Don't drive a truck with hairy backs on its four corners...the girls won't like it.
