I have taken a 2022 4runner and a 2018 Tundra and finally made a v8 4runner, everything you an I love about Toyota now in the ultimate package. To give a little background about myself, I have been building cars for about 15 years now, everything from rock crawlers to drag cars, SEMA trucks to daily drivers. A fellow Toyota enthusiast told me I should build a 4runner or Tacoma with a v8 using all factory Toyota parts, so that is what I did (keeping the ability for dealer service). I am planning on building more of these as a few people have confirmed their interest in buying one. These builds are not cheap and very time consuming (3.5 months to complete the first one). I am asking the opinion of the community to see what something like this is worth. I am also currently working on the design for a v8 Tacoma. Let's hear it.

last i heard, a typical custom turn-key piggyback-ecu engine swap was in the ballpark of $20-30k over the cost of the vehicle, that in this retails around 40k.

i don't personally believe there's a significant market for it. there's always a couple, but they tend to be outliers.

I have to be honest. It's NOT worth anything to the average consumer.
The guys that can afford it, will pay your price. Don't let us, or anyone else set a value on your time and skills.
Price it at what you need to make it worth it to you. This is a niche market you are catering too. Of which, they have money to spend.
