All Yes for me but I still love this thing! Probably because it’s my first Tacoma. I’m hoping TSB 0058-18 resolves these problems.

Here in 6 speed manual land, all good. That said, the turbo lag @3000 RPMs could use some tweaks...

I had a '17 SR with the 4cyl that was plauged with all the symptoms. I offloaded that without losing any money and picked up an 18 TRD OR which only exhibits the low shift points. I've got a SSP on the way so I'm hoping that resolves the shift issue.

I haven't seen the survey in my inbox but I'm encouraged that they are pinging owners to gather info . Hopefully we get a TSB that rectifys the issue and puts this issue to rest. There is a lot of hate being thrown around about the third gens and I think it is likely centered around this issue. Claims of diminished reliability and longevity are being made but I think it is way too early to substantiate those claims. Consumer Reports seems to have started those claims but don't have much to point to other than an awkward seating position and shift points.

All yes for me. Can’t get my local dealer to address the new TSB for the life of me either.

I’ll eventually get a 3rd Gen, waiting for all this to be ironed out.

I understand OVtune is a big help but A.) You shouldn't have to have after matket ways to fix these issues and B.) Some of us aren't willing or able to spend that kind of money on something that Toyota should be taking care of anyway.

With that said, I had 0062-18 done yesterday and so far, what little driving I've done so far, it's a night and day difference in shifting. Seems to hold speed better, especially on slight grades, more pop off the line as well. I'm trying to drive it like I stole it for a bit during the relearning process.

I've always loved my tacos (had two so far) and I love this one too but these updates ARE helping a lot. I've had two done so far. My one and only wish is that the backseat were slightly bigger. Keeps me thinking about a Tundra but I love my taco. If Toyota wants to survey and make things all that much better, then I'm all for it.

    Cheers gentlemen!

I want to say thank you to all you gentleman I thought I was alone in this issue with my truck, I'm glad to see that now I have something to show the dealer when they've tried to dismiss me like I'm a fool or crazy!

I'm new to the Tacoma world, but picked up a 2018 back in April and really like the truck. I am a little frustrated with the transmission and drive characteristics, but it looks like there are a few service bullitans that I could have done. I've been driving regularly with the ECT button on and I feel like that helps a lot. Keeps the tranny from hunting so much. Anyways, glad to hear Toyota is looking into it. The truck just doesn't drive as good as I thought it should and that seems to be a common feeling among owners...
