They should have 5 questions. The four listed plus an additional: Are you generally oblivious to most things? And then remove the "no" option for anyone that has 4 no's to the previous questions.

Only email I get from Toyota is asking me if I'm ready to buy another vehicle or they have an incredible trade in offer that expires in 24 hours don't wait. :spending::spending::spending:

Mine is completely fine. Love the truck. Love the engine. Love the power. Maybe because I’m coming from a Wrangler but I have absolutely none of the issues everyone complains about on here.

The only thing I could see is the shifting on the highway when your going up hills. It does seem to struggle to find a gear in that one scenario but I’m in Florida so this is a non issue.

I love the MPG and power of this thing. I drove 42 miles to the beach yesterday and got 25.8 mpg. Such a nice driving truck. Again, maybe it’s because I’m coming from a Wrangler but I don’t have these issues.

Where was this sent from to the owners that got this survey? Why wouldn’t every owner get the survey sent to them?

I got it, but I was confused as to why they (only) listed downhill driving conditions as ones that cause “lack of power”. Shouldn’t there be a “lack of power” if you’re off the gas when going down a hill?

    all tore up already
Found it odd they cant tell who has a manual transmission. Half was about throttle delay and half about transmission. Of course I think it shifts when I want it to or I wouldn't have shifted:burnrubber:

Filled mine out yesterday. Fairly long survey but it asked about lack of power, unresponsive gas pedal, rough tranny shifting and the environments you experience them in.

Love the people who are like “Glad to see toyota looking into it”. Like the 3rd gen rolled off the lot 2 weeks ago. Where the hell have they been the past few years?

The survey is probably to just see how many people won’t be buying another Tacoma.

Correct, it's not. I love my new truck. I love it better with the SSP module installed. Before I installed it, I had a long-ish highway drive and it did fine but was constantly looking for a gear when going up hill or when increasing speed. The SSP module makes it shift like it should.

Hmm, I have no problems at all with shifting. The only thing I've noticed with mine has been lower than I would like rpms on occasion and all that requires is a little more pressure on the gas to down shift. This thing has been blown WAY out of proportion imo...

You can throw that thing away and get toyota’s newest tsb 0062-18 service for zero cost. It feels like a different truck. It now shifts like a Toyota and has more power right when you want it.

The service TSB 0062-18 fixes this also. Always in the right gear, never a dead spot in the pedal, always ready to go. It feels like the engine opens up and it just shifts right everywhere every time.

New Tacoma owner here, with less than. 600 miles. Glad to have found this forum. I too have a very odd and noticeable shifting issues with the auto trans. Definitely following this thread.

x2. recent new owners may not get the survey since we need more experience with it for our answers to be meaningful. but i do have some issues mentioned. if i went to dealer asking for tsbs i would
expect to be turned away til there are some miles on it. i'll get there though and if this ever comes to something - that would be great. it is really my only complaint with the truck (other than entune connected crap)

I got it to and submitted my responses which are similar to some of the reponses on here. Hopefully they will look into resolving the issue. I really like the truck except for those times when the transmission seems be hunting for gears.

Oh yeah lol. I got one of these...I skipped all the questions because they didn’t apply to me, and just typed in one of those boxes “shifts and drives perfectly fine because it’s a 4cyl 5speed, thank you, keep up the good work”
