The global auto industry is in the early stages of a global, technology-driven transition to a new era of transportation, and one of the largest legacy automakers is embracing the change. At the CES conference in Las Vegas, Toyota Motor Corp announced it will begin integrating Amazon.com, Inc. voice assistant Alexa into select Toyota models starting in 2018.

Toyota said it will be including Alexa in all Toyota and Lexus models which have either the Toyota Entune 3.0 App Suite or the Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0. Alexa will allow Toyota drivers to use voice prompts to play music, find weather reports, interact with other Alexa-enabled devices, identify local businesses and navigate to destinations.

OP, thank you for sharing this info. For me, I do not like this idea at AL!!! We, or better, my wife had the Alexa thing at home and I cannot stand it. You look over and it is "listening" with the lights going around without being prompted :spy:. Then, we have gotten coupons on our e-mails in regards to that conversation. Of course we tested it speaking about dildos and some other weird shit :anonymous: and sure enough those ads were popping up in our browser, e-mail, Facebook etc... The device is gone and at here work now.

Siri, for example, only records and sends data when prompted ("hey Siri").
The Echo is always recording and always sending data... As a civilization, how are we okay with this? Because it's only audio?? If it were recording video, people would be up in arms!
