So I’m getting the recall done on my truck this morning in Elizabeth city North Carolina and I’m looking around the lot. I found a 23 SR5 exactly like mine with 25,000 miles on it and they’re asking $48,500. Oh. My. God.

The real issue is that some poor sap will actually buy that for that price and probably 13% interest

Good point. This is dealers being greedy. However, it does bode well for resale value.

Seems the resale on the 3rd Gens is going up and up. Apparently, the 4th Gen sales are reeeeeally slow. A lot of people do not want a small turbo 4 cyl.

Thankfully, no one is forced to purchase that truck.
Nor is anyone forced to sell something they own for a price at which they won't accept.

Just saw a 2018 Sport with 80K at used car lot for $35,000. It was pretty clean, not perfect.

Yeah, they have that $2000 package on every vehicle new and used. What a racket. And that mafia called Southeast Toyota distributors doesn’t help.

If we could all get together ,and just let vehicles that they are overpricing just sit there till they rot….they will stop.I see them putting ADM’s (additional dealer markup)for 10 to 15k on type R Civics.. ridiculous

Unfortunately somebody will probably pay it. For comparison dealer near me has a 24 Sport in Underground for 4-5 grand less. I think they listed on their website for 43,xxx6E1C1F89-51DC-4305-A0B6-4D920B38AFAF.jpg
*EDIT probably gotta zoom in on price

I think Toyota had pretty good luck with engineering. If they had reasonable prices and that engine had been in the Tacoma for at least five years, I’d actually test drive one.

It’s not just Tacomas. I recently took the in-laws gx460 shopping. The new ones are the same 4 turbo they are putting in the Land Cruiser and every other Lexus/toyota model it seems. They tested a new one and were not impressed. The previous model had the awesome v8, and they want that one. The dealer guy rolled his eyes and said everyone already panic bought the ‘23 models up. We told him give us a call if he sees a unicorn again.

Yeah prices are insane for popular trucks.

In Cheyenne at the ford dealer a 2024 F150 with the turbo 6 was 61k and change. Right across the row was a 2024 F350 Super Duty with the 7.3 and loaded for 2300 bucks more.

Sales manager said it was because everyone wanted the f150. Yeah maybe in Cheyenne on the pavement. Where I live everyone has a cattle or horse trailer. F150 doesn’t cut it.

The only good thing is that this makes the values of those of us who have a little older toyota trucks, it makes the value go up a lot. I have a 2019 TRD Sport that I paid $38,000 for Out The Door, and right now, that is looking like a bargain! I have completely customized my truck, with completely new interior etc, and I have been offered over $40,000 for my truck NOW, Five Years Later! Not bad, but the problem is, what would I do if I sold my truck? Oh yeah, Nissan KNOWS how to price their trucks, unlike Toyota, who are just ripping people off now!

Its only worth what someone will pay for it.

I was on a dealership lot and a young guy still in college was looking at Lincoln Navigators at $100K and I heard him say that price wasn't bad for what you get. I wanted to ask him what do you think you are getting at that price? Fords reliability is subpar. You will be stuck with an insane car payment, the vehicle will depreciate faster than it will be paid for and then it will rust and breakdown and cost a fortune to fix. Its got all the bells and whistles but most of that crap you will never use or even need. I see this all the time and wonder when did people loose touch with reality? Stealerships love you guys. I know because I worked for them. I heard them say "there is another one with stupid tattooed across his forehead".
