So why is this kit only for 2020s and not earlier 3rd gens?

Awesome! Thanks! Now it’s just a matter of seeing if they’ll work for a double cab long bed. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t.

    A few.
I would imagine it would work, but maybe not give a full 2" of lift due to the extra weight.

I assume the install is mandatory. So probably even more markup.

During a gold rush, sell shovels that are covered by a factory warranty, works with TSS, meets DOT requirements, bundled onto a loan. Pro grille required as it drops the radar...

I have a newbie question. If I do a say 2” lift, and 33’s, do I lose my radar cruise control? I saw some say that they had to delete it with this new factory lift. Do I also lose the other safety feature like collision avoidance? Man I LOVE that cruise control! Thanks.

I had a front axel seal leak at 30k miles and the warranty was denied because of my Eibach 2" lift, dude blew smoke up my butt saying it would have been covered if I had been running a diff drop. TBH/FWIW I wasn't expecting it to be covered, but service writer said it should be covered when I dropped the truck off.

After getting clarification from Toyota, they won't install on a DC/LB due to center of gravity concerns.

Toyota tech here, I literally just installed the full kit yesterday on a TRD sport RWD, no issues. Make sure if you have it installed that they recalibrate your front recognition camera and MWRS

The price is the price, either deal with it or don't. For a 3 year warranty, Toyota R&D and Toyota installation, people will pay for that piece of mind. Also, Toyota is in the business of making money so if you calculate an equivalent $600 lift with hillbilly backyard install, its not really apples to apples.

Basically just paying for a sticker. It's a 2in shock body on these. And a rear block. Just buy 5160/6112s and leafpack of your choice and you'll still be under the 2k mark with a much better lift and ride.... wonder how many people will fall for this before doing research

However that is said without knowing the retention of safety features. I'm sure you can follow toyotas approach and keep the features working properly

Technically speaking you can lift your vehicle and remain warranty as long as the lift does is not the direct cause of any issue.

Sure, but with Toyota's offering the lift components themselves are under warranty as well as retaining the warranty on your truck. I'm not saying that it's worth it or I would do it, but I could see how this might be the direction that makes sense for some people. For instance, what if you were leasing? This would probably be your only option, wouldn't it?

Hi all, appreciate all the good info and commentary, I am new to TW and loving the resource.... I've got an ACOR in the pipeline so this option of great inerest to me. Agree with comments on pricing .... its interesting though, people routinely pay $1500 for a louder radio, heated seats and an app - personally I'd be much more inclined to spend that money on an option like this (I did not spec OR premium). Looking forward to learning more on actual lift and some installed user feedback. Cheers!

To use that warranty when your truck gets the vibrations you'll have to convince a tech to recreate it and document it. Then Toyota will slap a band-aid on it (TSS sensor got tape?) like replacing the needle bearing with another needle bearing to get the owner through the 3 years. I look forward to what comes from this... perhaps we can get a TSB on the weak links that are exposed when lifting. They will now be stressed while under warranty. Maybe they will just issue a TSB for the lift kit. Or maybe the small lift won't stress anything and this is just good business for Toyota.

Honestly if they just used a progressive 3 leaf AAL in the kit which really isn’t that much more expensive, it would be a better kit. The stupid 1” block is fucking dumb from the manufacturer known for its sagging leaf springs.

The stupidest thing to me though is this kit is now juxtaposed against the TRD-OR. Makes it seem like you need to pay more on top of their offroad package to have a real offroad package.
