Does Toyota know where I am?

I bought my Taco used, from a Chrysler dealer in Canada. Does Toyota get updated with my new address? What about when I move? How do they get recall information to me?

Glad to see, mine is included too. Damn airbag light has been on for a year. Considering the pissing contest we all went through collectively, they BETTER be reimbursing the folks that paid out of their own pockets to fix this over the last couple years.

That's good news for people that have been driving without an airbag for 1 or 2 years. When the light comes on you have no airbag. Happened in my old car but they wanted $400 or so to change the seat sensor, i put it off for over a year then got in a collision, airbags didn't go off because of sensor. No injuries, but was able to sell the car to someone willing to fix the body, so i guess it worked out. In hindsight i would have liked to have airbags working and the manufacturer should always recall known safety issues, as this one was common to my vehicle year-told by mechanic.

Errr. I was telling my dive buddy about my airbag replacement situation and while describing him my unfortunate predicament of paying $500 at a toyota dealership I had a moment. I hate getting those moments. Following thought came to my mind....

Those of us who already replaced the part.... out of our own pocket... the part was replaced but root cause of problem that caused failure of that part was not fixed. So does that imply that we will be getting a refund AND have to go back to the dealer for round 2? I would think so...

Am I loosing my mind or is there some explanation to my thought?

I have an 06 Tacoma and was told about this recall when I took my truck in for an oil change Friday. I asked the clerk how long it would take so she called up the service guy that was about to work on my truck. He had never heard of the recall and said he had never done one... I was quick to tell them that I would wait to have the cable fixed. Has anyone had this done yet?

Did you take it to Taco Bell?! I'm asking because the TOYOTA service guy didn't know about it?! If that's seriously the case, you'd likely get a better oil change at Taco Bell. Plus lunch. :taco:

There have been press releases about the recall, but the official letters are due to be mailed in April. The Spiral Cable feeds the horn, cruise control, and airbag. There may be other things as well.
