I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I got the recall in the mail the other day. Mine actually shit out like 2 weeks after I bought it. Already was repaired.

I hope this is true. My steering wheel radio control back lights only work when my steering wheel is not centered. Would be nice to have them fixed for free. :)

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
thx...doesnt make much sense to replace the part w/ an identical one that will the have the same issue if they do nothing to fix it. if they "fix" the issue AND replace the clock spring w/ another brand new one, that would be different.

I had mine done yesterday. The dealer called the tech line to confirm the part they had was the correct one and it was. I asked what happens if the airbag lights comes on again for the same reason and they said they would preform the recall again for free.

ok so i just have to wait for a letter? 07 taco. my light is not on tho. about that. i “think” it is staying on just a tad bit longer when i first start the truck but it goes off.

edit: do you all think i will have to get it done where i got my truck? it came with a life time warranty from there. the guy that owns that dealer owns a warranty company or what every and all the cars/trucks new and used come with life time warranty.

You can get recalls and original warranty repairs done at any Toyota dealership.

A pdf of this recall is attached.. My girlfriend sent me this today. I have no idea where she found it. She was interested in looking up recalls for her Camry and came across it. It seems Toyota is preparing for the recall & the notice states there's only reason to bring it in if the airbag light remains illuminated. They are still working to design parts for the recall service...

The .pdf is available at the Toyota recall site.

I would say that if your airbag light is on then it it's a definite safety issue and you should get the recall done as soon as possible. If not, then you can go in whenever -- there won't be a time limit on a safety recall.

i know that. i usually get all my work done at dealer. but there is a dealer 3 miles from my house. but the dealer i got my truck from is like 25 or so miles away. it’s easier for my to go to the one that is closer. but i know for a fact warranty work has to be done at the dealer i got it from for it to be under warranty. i can’t do warranty at any dealer because my life time warranty is thru the dealer i got it from.

Toyota is recalling 495,000 certain 2005 to early 2009 model year Toyota Tacoma vehicles sold in the U.S.

Checked with my dealer yesterday...seems this may only trucks with a 9 wire cable(no steering wheel control)SR5, not a 12 wire cable(steering wheel controls)TRD:confused::confused:
    Mine is SR5

Don't need a warranty for a safety recall.

I would think that Toyota would have strong words with an official dealer who told customers that they must come back to his specific shop for recall repairs or that he would void their extended warranty.

I guess while I'm getting my airbag cable recall done I can ask them about doing the one for the leaf springs.
