A lot of people on TW say they can still remote start their trucks with the fob after the subscription runs out. Seems Toyota has admitted they shouldn't be able to?
I won't know until the weather warms up if it'll work for me. I would be pretty pissed if suddenly I couldn't remote start in the middle of winter.

Keyfob remote start stopped working when the trial period ended on the subscription.

My 2020 also had the fob stop working once the first year was over with the subscription. To be honest, I just paid the $80 for the year because I use the remote start on the app at least once a day during winter.

I still think it's horseshit that Toyota only allows the use of the fob if you have a subscription. That's ridiculous.

My wife has a 2020 camry and I just tested it yesterday. Lol told her it was her early Christmas present . Once her app free trial was over she quit using the auto start . Now she is stoked that she can just use the remote .

Pretty sure you can turn that feature on in Techstream, regardless of subscription… same as the alarm. But I could be wrong…

Some guy creates a video with incorrect information about Toyota remote start subscription, then creates another saying they are backpedaling. (Rather than correctly saying he was wrong in the first video).
What’s worse is both get posted here and draws even more $$$ to this guys BS.
