No Toyota did not build a 3rd gen V8, and they probably never will. Even if it's a one off for SEMA. I know Toyota built a 2nd gen V8 Tacoma many moons ago.

Nissan did build a V8 Frontier for SEMA 22. I know, who cares. Not like it will ever go to market, and how good is Nissan's V8?

The thing does look like a downsized 2.5 gen Tundra, and why didn't I see this on Friday?

It could have been me nekkid.

Toyota could build a V8 3rd gen for SEMA, but I think they want North America to quietly forget they used to build a V8 Tundra.

I admit there's no reason for Toyota to suggest that the 3rd gen Tacoma could host a V8 engine, and Toyota has no reason to advertise a V8 they do not sell.

After they did such a great job outsourcing the supra to bmw, maybe they'll outsource the next tacoma to Nissan.

I did see one of those earlier today a few vehicles behind me at a light. It could have been a Sequioa with V8 grille badge, but I'm sure when I looked at it it was a 4Runner.
