Toyota called asking to purchase my truck. They asked if I lifted it, and what aftermarket parts are currently on it. Depending on how much they offer, is it worth buying a new one? Would you do it? Any advice on how much my truck could be worth with aftermarket parts?

    It's a weekend vehicle only.

    Truck stats:
    2011 Tacoma Dc OR
2.5 C/O Kings up front, Fox with resi in rear and aal
    Dsm upper a arms
Wheelers bump stops and steering rack bushing replaced
    30k miles on the truck
    I owe 15k.

I doubt it was actually "Toyota" the manufacturer calling but a sales representative for a Toyota dealership.

There is a major shortage of Tacoma's right now. Dealers are desperate to get them. Last month I was desperate for a 5-lug, white , access cab, 2.7 auto but no dealer in a 200 mile radius had one. Had to pay more and settle for a white, 2.7, DC truck. I would have paid top dollar for that access cab last month had any dealer within a reasonable distance had one in stock.

Salesman told me that since Ford stop making the Ranger, and Chevy stopped making the Colorado, Toyota is actually overwhelmed with producing plain white, 4-Cyl Tacoma's. Because of this inventory is low, and all that you have sitting on lots are fully loaded models.

I could probably sell both of my white Tacoma's I bought a month ago for a slight profit if I wanted to right now. Will see what happens when the new Chevy Colorado hits the market, right now Toyota is raking in pure profit with this almost 10 year old truck.

Look at it this way: If it wasn't good for the dealer they wouldn't be calling you

I got one of those letters once offering me a ridiculous price for my 2009. It had some crap about depending on model and options. I sent it back to the director of sales at the dealership asking why they send out these crappy low ball trade in offers. Told him I felt it was insulting. He emailed an apology. It kicked off a relationship with him. Next truck I bought I dealed directly with the sales director not a lower level sales person.

    Lol!

So I know the call was from the Toyota dealer I bought the truck from, and at no time did they ask me to send 30k to an off shore account to win my million dollars, but I did question everything, because I get calls about financial scams all the time @ work. I just wonder if this happen to others and if they did it. The only thing they could offer me over the phone was a 1 percentage point off my apr rate. Great comments. I love my truck and will most likely keep it unless there is some obvious reason this year's model is better.

Do they only send these if you financed your purchase? Just curious.

They only send them if they find out your address. If they don't know what vehicle(s) you have they just change "Tacoma" to "vehicle".
