    Because as much as they are mass produced- Use, loading, environment all effect how the truck breaks in. Some folks have issues with vibes right away...some don't ever have a problem.

    My 3 inch lift didn't need shims or spacers and I have no vibrations. Down the road- Who knows what'll happen.

    Yeh after this is fixed or dealt with im seriously thinking about taking off the lift and working on a beater truck for my fun.

    Definitely would have been. Maybe different build tolerances between your original and the new one?

    My approach to issues like this is the address the easiest and cheapest solutions first. It's silly to drop the transmission and mess with the torque converter if there's a $10 part you can bolt in place in 10 minutes first. If the spacer fixes the issue, you just saved yourself a ton of time, money, and headaches. If it doesn't you're out $10.

    Also, I rarely trust work done by anyone but myself. Get under your truck. Is the driveshaft actually a new one? Wiggle the driveshaft and see how much play there is in that carrier.

    Most times it's something simple that's overlooked. Start with the simple stuff and make sure you're the one eliminating those as options rather than taking someone else's word for it.

    yeh only reason im doing it this way is because its under warranty and if it does turn out to be something expensive i would like that to take care of it/

    You're not. There's a reason why Tom Woods makes money selling 1-piece driveshafts for our trucks.

    Personally, I'm running a full custom 2-piece driveshaft with a double-cardigan joint and Ford Super Duty carrier bearing.

    Toyota couldn't help me with my vibrations either. Same goes for a lot of people. Remember -- those guys only work on stock trucks with stock truck problems.

    That was a lot of the problem with your vibrations- Toyota doesn't make jackstand vibration dampeners....

    my truck is lifted

    only issue ive found is the gas mileage dropped when i put bigger tires on...and welded and bolted a bunch of armor to the truck...

    i had a span where i popped a CV axle every couple of weeks but that has settled itself out where i dont have that issue anymore

    no weird vibrations or noises either

    what about wheels/tires? some imbalance, tweaked wheel, or maybe a tire out of round? My truck does something similar to what you describe, but on a lesser scale.... just kinda has a little bounce from the rear at around 45mph, my last truck did it too... im thinking it may have something to do with my wheels... i've hit a couple rocks and tree stumps with em off road. :cool:

    Funny...Cause I've altered cars (engines, suspensions, electronics) and I've had stock cars- and I haven't had more issues with the worked on ones.
    It's a personal thing- but I have enjoyed the vehicles I've had...and made them be what I wanted.

    exactly^. i didnt spend this much money on a truck to keep it stock. Obviously if im on forums i like modding my vehicle.

    Funny thing is, i found out last night that Viet2100 has vibrations like we get from the lift and he doesnt even have a lift.
