Agreed, I still think BEV is the middle step to FCEV. Walmart is even switching their forklifts to green hydrogen. Just have to tackle batteries in EV's first though. It will take time, but some people are in a rush. Not the thing to rush.

I was going to say, someone's gone and smacked the EV hornets nest. They're in here to now.

Yeah… if he lives a modest livestyle he’s probably got enough saved to make it the rest of the way I’m sure….

I don't think anybody is "fan-boying." More-so that it's obvious which direction the market is moving, and you can either adapt to it or be left out. I'm reasonably sure Toyota is not going to continue making an anemic gas powered Tacoma if the entire rest of the market has shifted to EV. Has nothing to do with liking one over the other, it has to do with what consumers are buying.

The mere fact you have an account on a truck forum means you are an "enthusiast" in marketing terms. The vast, vast majority of the public give precisely zero fucks about what their vehicle does other than two things:
    What is my monthly payment?
    What is my fuel economy?

But the issue is consumers aren't being given a choice. Sooner or later parts availability and fossil fuel production will dwindle and that will force consumers to go with whatever half baked econo poo box is on the market.

So go start a mining company and start digging up materials needed on asteroids. We live on a finite planet. You can't extract more than exists. You can refine and research and develop new tech, but nobody in the industry cares whether or not a gas tacoma remains running and has available parts just so you're happy with your truck.

That’s my point. I want the ability to choose but it will be forced down my throat. Based off real actual sales a majority of people still want ICE but the governments and regulators (along with greedy corporations) will take away my ability to choose.

Easy solution. Start your own car company. Build the types of vehicles you're sure that people want to drive.

This is literally how capitalism works. If the majority of the market wants to buy EV, then EV is what will get made. Nobody is going to make what YOU want just because you want it.

There's no shortage of global oil. There is a shortage of global common sense.
