    lol, k

I missed the part in school where we learned that the earth had an infinite amount of resources available in perpetuity.

Right now you have a choice....EV or petrol or hydrogen or hybrid vehicle. 20 years ago you had only one choice....some habits are hard to break.

That’s dependent on future exploration. The current globally proven oil reserves contain roughly enough oil for 47 years at current consumption rates. Of course more is likely to be found, better extraction techniques likely to be developed and higher efficiencies in oil use would extend that timeline. In the end though it is a finite resource.

I never said that things shouldn’t allow choices. I am saying that the EV movement doesn’t allow for multiple choices and the governments are starting to dictate those choices, see California and NY and more globally. Whereas, I don’t care. You want to buy an EV, petrol, or a hydrogen car I don’t care. I am all for it but the hype far outweighs the amount spending their dollars on them. EVs aren’t perfect just like any technology they have some environmental impacts too.

30 years ago it was clear Toyota was building reliable boring vehicles with lots of reliability and durability. Announcing it 30 years later is laughable. I buy Toyota exactly for that reason. And Honda too.
    Lol Toyota Hellcat? Nope
    Toyota Raptor? Nope
    Toyota Hummer? Nope.
    Reliable, durable. Check.
    Toyota exciting? Nope.

Well the EV movement has, BEV, FCEV, PHEV, HEV all which are allowed in Cal. and NY in 2035. EV's aren't perfect of course not, but their improvement in tech is improving everyday. Petrol engines had had minimal improvement. They still spew CO2 and CO. For over 100 years now.

Remember that time he devoted literally hundreds of millions of dollars and years of resources just to build a supercar for his own personal use?

Arguing we have to go away from ICE (because “finite” oil resources) then suggesting the answer is EV (which relies on finite resources that absolutely wreck the earth during their mining) is funny to me.

Neither is the answer long term, IMO.

I’m on the hydrogen bandwagon and wish more automakers would focus on it (as it is the best “long term” option we’ve dreamt up thus far) and make advancements.
