Use Kudzu.com to find a good windshield installer. Kudzu is a place for customers to write reviews about the service they received.

I did & it only cost me $165. The windshield is better than the original one. Installed at my house(yes this is the norm).

Columbia Ins Co. The just didn't want to have to pay for another windshield, but they did anyway and detailed my truck. So it all worked out, just a pain in the ass.

I am coming late to the party here, but in RI Ihave seen 3 insur. only pay for repair. That was Allstate, Progressive and now Gieco. You are saying that the insur wil replace your window for no charge and not raise your rates?

The reason I ask this, is that I just picked up a real nice crack from a huge rock hitting me the other night coming home from Foxwoods Casino. Insur will repair, but replace goes through the deductible. A new WS will run me under $200 installed. If I go through insur, Iwill still pay $200 and have a claim on the record. Just curious if your situation was similiar.

Ok, Ok... as long as we are talking about glass does anyone know if they made 1st gen. Tacomas with solid one piece glass in the rear instead of the slider..?

I had to pay my $100 deductible the first time windshield was put in. He f'd it up and then tried to patch it up. I called ins co back and said this is BS, windshield leaks and he got black shit all over my truck, SO I found someone else to do it and they got it in better and I got my truck detailed. It cost the ins company $450 bucks and I didn't pay anything else.
