Agreed re the Ford. IF they were actually being sold at the price set by Ford.

40mpg truck, easy to park, probably similar interior room to Tacoma. For $25k, that’s a great deal.

Agreed but an EV Maverick would truly earn the name, even if it were a high priced option. More than the not-terribly-exciting Lightening.

Just saw the Hyundai truck at our local car show. It stickered around $40K, and that's without any local area "mark up." It's a neat truck, but there's no way I would pay that much for it...lol

That high price kinda defeats the purpose altogether, they should be around $25K tops.

Still not sure what the Lightning accoplishes over ICE F-150. It's electric, and it's fast. I guess if you have to have an EV and also want or need a truck it makes sense.

Mobile power station would be one cool feature:

Lightning is just a bloated flagship advertising a truck that is too expensive for most people, and too large for what most people do. Maverick is the truck 90% of people have wanted, as evidenced by the sales success of the model.

The Santa Cruz is growing on me. I like the styling a lot more than the Ridgeline. And I'm not buying a ford. Just checked carfax and the price point on used ones seems reasonable. Unfortunately there are no used ones near me but I have a dealer right around the corner with 4 on the lot. I'm going to go test drive one.

Yes it's sold out but you can still go to the ford website and build one. It will show your MSRP, but you probably can't order it, I haven't tried to order it.

I'm not sure exactly when you can start to order the 2023 models.

I was contacted in November for a 2023 hybrid build. I had put a deposit down last February. I declined to follow through as I have other priorities at the moment. The salesman did contact me in the summer saying they had an AWD one, but I saw 0 reasons to trade in my Tacoma for that.
