I have my ‘18 TRD OR ordered from a local dealership to replace my ‘16 that was wrecked.

I’m wondering when I go to finance thru Toyota Financial Services, if anyone might have info on what the dealership gets when they get a customer to finance thru TFS instead of another institution? I imagine there’s kickbacks/dealer incentives of some sort for the dealership employees.

Can’t realky argue with 0% down for 36 months, but I might as well try to work some extra accessories into the deal while at it.

They gave me an extended warranty bumper to bumper for 7years if finance thru Toyota at a 7% interest rate. The dealer will get over $2k, they were upfront about it and asked to please make at least 3 payments before refinance thru a different bank for a lower int rate. Oh, the warranty includes free oil changes for the 7years or 70k miles as well.

Toyota of Escondido is quoting me at 1.9%, 5 years, for 32k financed. It jumps to 2.9% if financed for 6 years. Granted, we're putting down a nice down payment and my credit score is over 800.

I expect to get the 0% for 3 years (or 1.9% for 5 years) as I'm in the same boat. I'm wondering if I can't entice them to add things like the warranty mentioned above if I finance thru TFS. I'll definitely have to try that!

I went through TFS, have perfect credit, and going at 1.9%. Not great, but I have never seen 0% on a Taco. Only GM's and John Deeres...

SET Financing is doing 1.9% @ 48 and 2.9% @ 60 and higher. TRD PRO excluded of course.

Nice! This must be regional. I’m in Northeast TN and they are advertising 1.9% for 60 months and 2.9% for 72 months. 36 months is also 1.9%.

When I bought my 17 I was offered 3.49% for 60 months at the time.:annoyed:

When I got my 2017 at the end of January this year I was able to get 0.9% APR for 60 months through TFS. I moved up my timeline to buy to buy it before January ended to get the deal.

Not to hijack, but related: If you "order" a vehicle don't manufacturers typically not negotiate? If they do; wouldn't that negotiation take place when it's ordered?

I ordered two Tacomas (16 OR which was traded in on ordered 17 PRo)
    I negotiated price first

My dealer didn’t care if it was ordered or I took from inventory

Manufacture has nothing to do with it. Dealer buys (finances the car from them).

If your dealer does enough volume like mine does, they will honor severely negotiated prices on “ordered /allocated” Toyotas

Sometimes they will offer you finance incentives OR cash. When I negotiated this weekend, they said I could either have 2.9% or $500. Easy math tells me lower rates will save way more than $500.

Right on, thanks for the info.
I tried to order 3 different vehicles over the past few years: GMC, Ford, Toyota and each dealership said zero negotiation, have to pay MSRP if it's not on our lot or if we can't dealer trade for one.

    It’s dealer dependent

When I bought my 2018 SR last week, I was looking at Tundras too. Crew cab with FRONT bench seat. Dealer offered $5500 off msrp. I can take from stock or order, same price

On order if I do cavalry blue or inferno, $500 deposit. If I do safe color, white silver and black, no deposit

Then again I only deal with the Fleet guy

Check with the local SD credit unions, they are always running auto loan specials. At 800 you should be able to get below 1.49

    This is fact.
High volume dealers know it’s all about UIO and making their money in aftersales. They will whore out orders below invoice because all they are doing is PDI and the paperwork.
