Toyota Denied my 3rd brake light recall due to camper shell

glueing the cap to the bed is not a good move if you want service techs to deal with things.

DIY is always best!

 

Sounds like the customer did. The dealer actually tried to provide a solution, the customer said No way that cap is getting moved.

 

Current state: bed of truck is water tight. Cab is not.

If you don't see screws on the outside of the light then it's bolted from the inside.
Doable but a PITA

I had same situation and just put some silicone on the top and sides where they leak (mine never did, but i added the silicone just in case). No need in my mind to silicone the bottom as gravity takes care of that. Ended up trading the rig 3 years later and i let the dealer worry about the recall
