I went with the Geico thing. It is around $11 every 6 months. It is 100,000 or 7 years with a $250 deductible. The negative is it in effect locks you into Geico insurance for 100,000 miles or 7 years. I had a substantial increase in my car insurance this year.

Has anyone on here ever made a warranty claim with Geico?

My brother has the Geico warranty on his 2017 Dodge Caravan. They covered $900 for two sensors. He didn't mention any problems.

Sent Mr. Johnson an email with the vehicle info needed.
Next evening (last night - 28 June), he calls me about 7:00pm and answers all my questions.
No pressure, no attempts to sell me anything I didn't want, none of that inflated high pressure bullshit you typically get at a dealer.
    Very easy and pleasant experience.
Hey - take it or leave it...it's worth it to me, maybe not for you and that's cool.
    Happy Motorin'

one thing, when you get the booklet double check all the info like VIN, especially if you typed it and sent it to him.
in the past i copy my title and send it to them, one number off and it will not be valid. i did have a big mess i discovered once and it took a while for them to send me another corrected booklet.

I’ll also be contacting Jerry Johnson for the 10 year-125k deal for $1795. Sounds like the best deal for not only me but to leave to my wife in case of my passing. Something for ya’ll to think about.

Extended warranties are not really worth the money on Toyotas. You tend to never use them. But on 3ed Gen?? Have 2015 no issues so far.

How is a Toyota backed warranty from a Toyota dealer possibly a scam?

Is this guy legit on the warranties? As I need to chat with him soon? I’m not giving this dealer anymore money than I need too.

You will get all the same stuff for your local dealer. Then enjoy spending the 1-2k you save elsewhere.

Don't rule out your local dealer. They'll likely give you a little better service if you buy there...
My dad and I both purchased at our local dealer by simply telling them the price we're willing to pay (based on these threads). They don't love selling that low, but also realize that there is online competition.
(I did buy one a few years ago when Jennifer sold them, and that went well also, but I know she's out of the business now.)

All the service people see no matter the dealership it's in there Toyota computer system attached to the vin #. I've never had to produce honda, Subaru or Toyota paperwork when using the warranties. It should already be visible in there system at all Toyota dealers.

Jerry in Hutchinson KS is legit. You can Google Midwest Toyota and find the dealership and he is listed as on staff (with picture as well).
Never did extended warranty in many vehicles over the years but got fried on the GM transmission at 80k miles in 2021. Followed by a starter last winter. Bit the bullet on extended for Jerry’s good price on this new truck. Completely covered, no deductible for 6yr/125k mi for $1125 (beyond normal wear and tear). Piece of mind I guess. But he’s legit. You’ll get your Toyota warranty book in the mail from it.
BTW my dealer tried to sell me same extended warranty (after trying the ceramic protection inside and out plan) for $3k. And then oh since you bought new from us we’ll give $400 discount. I told them make it $1125 and we got a deal as that’s what I can get it for. They tried to claim it wasn’t Toyota warranty. It’s the same damn thing. I bit my tongue but wanted to give them the unicorn fist. BTW check your insurance as well. Long story short went to tell insurance of new vehicle switch and they tried to Jack me up on new truck, home owners, wife’s car etc. premiums. I went and got another quote and new insurance saved me over $1300 a year over what the old insurance was gonna do for all those items covered! Crooks!!! I am now paying $5/month less for insurance on a 2023 Taco vs what I was paying on a 2017 Silverado (bare bones no fluff). Old insurance wanted to double my monthly fee for insurance for the Toyota. Saved $650 a yr on home owners they were going to Jack up and my wife’s car dropped $20/month. Happily skipped in there and said cut them all, you just lost a customer! Hate being ripped off. Anyway, rambling….
