If anyone loves bikes like I do , TORQUE Group always does my 3rd party warranty stuff on my Harley’s. Not sure what other vehicles they might cover. Might be worth looking in to. Just tossing that out there because I’ve had personal good experiences with them. My last bike was $600/year, but as you may know , just 5 hours of labor at a dealership or shop can run you that $600.

as other said that is far too much for a 7/100000 you are gettin BONED

are warranties useful on Toyota ? yes....

Yaris had an exhaust problem, got fixed for free

    '99 4runner had...none, that warranty was a waste

trucky ? heat shield before warranty ran out, driver side sun visor hinge crapped out, got free one

I still paid more for the warranties than repairs needed under them, but I'll be the goober buying the warranties anyway

Buying the warranty also depends on how long you are keeping the truck. If you get a new vehicle every three years, why bother.

If however the 10 year warranty is fully transferable to a new buyer, there’s a nice selling point you can use.

Bumping this old thread, popped up first in Google.

Anyone add a recent warranty? I haven't purchased one yet, but I am tilting towards getting 10 years/100k miles. It's almost $1900, tho. Wondering if that's a fair price for a '21, or if I should try knocking some more dollars off. This is a little harder for me to price than the vehicle itself, so just tossing that out there for the masses.

    Thank you!

This warranty costs the dealer under $900 admin fee. $1200-1300 is fair. It is a Toyota and mechanically will not break but electrical or HVAC I can see. $1900 your better off saving the money

$1200 is reasonable since the Tacoma is very reliable.

I got rid of my BMW X5 since the CPO warranty was almost done and to extend another 2 years would be about $5000 to $6500. It was a plug-in hybrid so going without warranty is playing with fire.

Contact Jennifer for a better price. I purchased a warranty for my folks Camry from her last week. She has options out to 10/125K, price was half what the local dealer quoted my folks.

I purchased my 2020 SR5 from a dealer in Md. Their best price was 2k for a Platinum warranty.
I purchased the same warranty from Wolverine for $665.00. They are legit!!!

I'm assuming that this warranty is honored at all Toyota dealerships, correct?

Does anyone know if you can bump up the years on an existing Toyota plan? I bought my truck used and got the 5 year/100k mile platinum plan transferred to me but I put way less than 20k miles per year on my truck. Currently it only has ~33k miles. I'm curious if I could bump the 5 years up to 10 and what that'd cost. I asked a sales guy that when I was in for the fuel pump and he looked at me like I was an alien.

can it be bought before the 36month/36k mile warranty is up? Meaning, can I drive mine 2.5 years, see how its doing, and then pull the trigger on one?

I have never had warranty on a Toyota before, alll of them have been fine, with no extended warranty.

    Thanks

3rd party warranties suck. You have to deal with the warranty company, and they rarely cover the cost upfront. Usually, they will reimburse you. My dealer negotiated my truck with warranties:

    1. Tire and Wheel Protection (includes windshield damage, dent repair, and keys) - 72 months

    2. Exterior and Interior Appearance (covers all exterior items and paint from accidental or environment damage; scratches, repaint, etc) - 7 years

    3. Toyota Auto Care Premium Wrap (covers maintenance) - 95,000 miles

    4. Toyota Extra Care Platinum (extended warranty) - 84 months/125,000 miles

All in, I paid around $1,200 for all of these. My only gripe so far with the Toyota extended warranties/maintenance plans is that it appears to be through Toyota Financial and NOT Toyota. What this means is that there is no "easy" way to check the status or coverage of your car without reading the paperwork they gave you when you purchased the car. I wish this information was available on the Owners Website.

This is correct. I think the only requirement is that you purchased the car new or certified-used (I think). The truck also includes Toyota Care maintenance up till 25,000 miles from the factory.
