I went with +2 LT because that is what I felt fit my suspension travel needs best for the type of wheeling I like to do...and what I do mostly. With the 4runner before, I took it to Baja and desert areas in SoCal...but I still enjoyed the mountain trips more than anything. +2LT may not be the best LT or suspension setup for either type of terrain, but I think it will give me a versatile enough setup to have fun and keep up with friends anywhere. I also plan to put a vagabond drifter on the back! :p

I bounced back and forth between +2 and +3.5, after a good deal on a dirt king kit popped up I ended up pulling the trigger on that. +2 probably fits my needs better as I enjoy the trips up into the mountains more as well but oh well... I’m doing the install later this month hopefully if everything is in stock keep me updated on when you do yours!

For a long time I had planned for a +2 kit before the LT guys talked me into a 3.5 kit. Don’t get me wrong there are some advantages to a +2 over stock width, but you get much more for your kit going with 3.5. Since I like whoops and the go fast stuff, I would have felt pretty bummed if I had stayed with my original plan of the +2. If I’m being honest there isn’t a trail I have been on where a 3.5 kit has limited me anymore than if I were stock width. Especially with the difference of three inches in width in the kits yea man to me that’s an obvious choice...but you have to be open to real LT rear options if you want to get the potential out of a 3.5 kit as well.

Totally agree with what you said, ultimately it didn’t make sense to me to pay the same money for less performance

Anyone here have experience with how a 6 in fender and bedside matches up on CBI bumpers by chance? Assuming it will probably be a bit off.

The reality of it is that even if you go with 6" fenders it's not gonna keep crap from hitting your doors and bedsides so just pick the look you prefer - if you're thinking about installing or not installing glass bedsides think about what width you're going to have for those. The +2 fenders use kind of a factory fender flare in the mold that somewhat matches stock bedsides. If you're going to want to wheel hard tucking 35's you won't want factory bedsides unless you cut them up and bigger fenders as well. Kind of depends on what you're using your truck for - luxury prerunners use super wide glass so they tuck 37-40" tires btw :notsure:

CBI will make fiberglass width bumpers.

That said, I had a standard width CBI bumper with 4” glass and it’s right at the very edge of matching up. It will be noticeably smaller with 6”131192F0-ED3F-4537-A318-96909E6CA23D.jpg

Guess I used the term incorrectly, I meant the +2 maintains a more factory look while still having a slightly more aggressive look, vs. the +4 or +6 which screams aftermarket/race... Just getting into the LT game ill probably talk out my ass a lot as I learn lol

to all the gentlemen complaining about mcneil..... now im worried, AFTER i ordered my glass from mcneil two weeks ago a couple buddies that all have full size pre runners told me how mcneil had fucked all but one of them and i guess perry refused to resolve the issue and or refund them and stopped answering their calls and emails. i can only hope for the best at this point. one of the guys complaining said his bed sides were short 4 inches on each side and it was for a short bed silverado, thats pretty far off. so im a wee bit concerned now.i will be picking mine up though so i will hold them next to the truck in the parking lot to make sure they are right before i even leave

See my post above a few weeks ago. My experience with McNeil was super simple and straight-forward. I ordered April 15 (front fenders) and they were delivered May 5th, 2020. I placed the order and just waited...never emailed them, and the only email I received was the immediate confirmation of my online order. I have no affiliation with them, but my recent order was very painless. It was also delivered quicker than I thought, which was nice. Hope this lessens your worry a little bit!
Hope your order is as smooth as mine!

Seems as though if the order is fulfilled satisfactorily, obviously there’s no cause for concern. You just can’t count on any help from McNeil if an issue arises. Let’s face it, the best, most competent manufacturers make mistakes and have quality control issues from time to time, it’s how they handle it that matters.
It was less about damage and fitment issues I dealt with from them than the lack of integrity, lying, apathy, runaround, wasting of time that bothered me. They’re just not an ethical group.

so thats basically how my friends felt too, that they got screwed over out of their money from a product that obviously wasnt made right, one of them is a reputable pre runner shop too. im just hoping it goes decent for me

My McNeil experience was mixed. I ordered my fenders & bedsides last June and was delivered in July. Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 pieces were delivered cracked (shipping company at fault). It took several months (October) to work through the shipping insurance then McNeil finally just sent 2 new fenders without charge (credit to McNeil since the shipping insurance company wasn't helping; insurance said the fenders weren't packaged correctly for shipping). Although not perfect or completely symmetric, I was happy with fitment and
    overall quality of the fenders/bedsides.
