So I got glassworks fenders from a somewhat local member that had them sitting around. He didn't have the bumper caps so I need to buy some. Do I need glassworks specific caps? Anyone got some for sale

You still need bumper end caps? I'm 99% sure I have a brand new unmounted set among my pile of parts.

I bought a set. I still need to look at them to see how they fit up with the glass. Looks like you have to trim something to make them go together.

Yeah, they definitely require some working to make 'em fit the way you want. Worth the effort though.

I tried and couldn't figure it out so just too the bumper cover off. A write up would be nice

I tired to put them on as well. They fit like shit and have an inch gap in between the cap and bumper if they are lined up with the fender.

Ok so I've had front glassworks fenders sitting around for a year or so and now am finally ready for long travel but have a few questions. Did any of you find a good way to make a splash guard so the door jams don't get filled with mud. I'm going to order rear fenders but was wondering if any companies rear fenders would possibly work with a topper. I haven't seen a taco with a cap on the back and long travel yet but I think it would be sweet. I would maybe be ok with cutting the lip of my topper to make it fit but I don't know if it would be sturdy enough to handle a topper at long travel speeds off road.

Not sure if im right on this but on 1st gen dont you still use the sheet metal skin for fiberglass fenders? On 2nd gens the whole sheet metal fender comes off and theres nothing left except for the composite bed and the fiberglass fenders alone are not strong enough to support a hard top camper shell. I want to add a camper shell to my 2nd gen with bedsides also. You would have to fab up something with tube supports or sheet metal? Maybe a tube structure with sheet metal to mount the shell to or something... let me know if you figure something out haha someone on the long travel thread said they had built a structure to mount a shell but I never saw any pictures. It sucks because most other trucks you keep the sheet metal bed so you can still mount a shell.

Yeah that area on the 2nd gens is a composite plastic/rubber inner bed. I wish it was metal like on your truck! It does make it really easy to mount fiberglass though on the 2nd gens

Yeah this is what the 2nd gen looks like without bedsides:

Dam, well at least it's all open to fab up a small frame at least for a topper. Otherwise I might look into a bestop but I use the shit out of the rack on top of my cap right now.

There is a vendor on here that makes racks that go over the bestops. I don't remember who it is though

I'm going to be running a camper shell on top of my glass (we'll see how it looks), and getting some frame tubing to run underneath the glass to support it and the camper shel, in my mind basically just a big hoop that the glass can effectively sit on and the camper will sit on the glass and be fully supported. I'm just worried about the glass poking out from the camper shell and looking goofy...might have to have some custom fiberglass molded and removeable to have the fenders look like they blend into the camper shell. But we'll see how it looks when its done.
