Need to replace front notch bench.
Thank you for the reference. This is not a dead horse issue. I just received the notice. I need to translate this into Spanish to my boyfriend. Thank you.

What good does that corrosion spray do if it's only applied to the outside of the frame? They rust inside out.

Seems like it's just something done to make it look like they're doing something when all they're really doing is not taking responsibility for yet another defect.

Frame shows plenty of rust on my 2010. Took it to the dealer, they told me my frame is ok, normal amount of rust for the vehicle age, and refused to do anything with it.

My 08 got the new leaf springs 6 weeks ago. Then I got notice in the mail and took it in for frame inspection 4 weeks ago. It failed so the dealer sent pics to Toyota. They got approval and ordered the frame. It just came in so I dropped if off today and They gave me a nice loaner. My Toyota dealer has done a lot of frame replacements here in NJ. Same 2 man crew does them all the time. They do the swap in a day. My dealer has been great.

The min they should do is the CRc coating, it says it right there in Toyota’s instructional documents. To fail there needs to be a 10 mm hole somewhere. I’m going to wait till spring to get mine checked as I couldn’t find a hole yet, but even if it passes you can still have it rechecked again later. Just document that the dealer did nothing at all to it.

I'm in the southwest, truck is from the east. According to the letter frame replacement should have already begun everywhere.

Your truck only needs the CRC. :anonymous:

Took my 2010 Tacoma in last week here in Central Ohio for check of the frame. There was no perforation supposedly. The Dealer did advise my frame was one of the problem frames and will put the CRC on it and provide me a loaner car both at no cost to me. I do thank Edwinc357 for responding back to my initial post on this issue! Was hoping they would replace mine and actually all our frames regardless of perforation but it looks like there needs to be at least 10mm hole or larger for the frame replacement. This was advised on the response back to me and I see it again on some of the discussions here.

Has anyone had any success with this in Texas at a reputable dealership? I'm willing to drive up to Dallas or Houston or anywhere that would be willing to hook me up because I never even got the leaf spring TSB done much less something of this level. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Your local dealer should do it. You should not be going out your way for this those things. Call Toyota corp and tell them what's going on. They will make the dealer do the frame and the springs.

Hey guys, so I had my 06 Tacoma get the CRC spray in December 2015 since I'm in a cold wether state. November 2016 the truck comes up for inspection and it fails because there is a crack in the frame. Toyota tells me that since it was a limited service warranty and I had the CRC done there is nothing they could do. So I haven't had an inspected truck for almost 2 full years and now was wondering if my truck is eligible for this new warranty and to to get the new frame it should have back in 2015.
    Thanks

Take it get it inspected. If it failed state inspection then it should fail Toyota inspection. They can't offer you another crc because it has had it applied once so if it fails you will get a new frame.

This is the crack and hole that was found in my 2008 with less than 70,000 miles on the truck. Started out with a lot of surface rust that turned into chunks of metal chipping off to eventually crack and hole appearing on the passenger side of the frame.

My dealer replaced the frame and much to my surprise a bunch of other stuff that went along with it like lower control arms, cables, etc on Monday. I picked up truck yesterday and it's like a new truck again underneath!

I had the steering shaft replaced because I was experiencing stiff steering. Charged me $250 for the part. No labor because they had to remove it anyway. So that's all fixed now too. I am going to the website that I saw in posts for this to complain about this safety issue.

I'm not happy that my truck needed the frame replaced but I am glad that it was done and that Toyota picked up the tab.

I have to take my truck in on the 16th of October for the corrosion spray, my frame has 0 rust on it what so ever it's an 09. Should I be kinda hesitant to take it in for the coating ?

Thank you for including pictures of rust damage. We took our truck into Toyota of Escondido (San Diego county) last week. It passed. The staff stated that they have only applied the coating once. Easy and off to work we went.

I dropped mine off for the frame to be replaced. They gave me a Camry (hybrid). Nice little car but I told them I need a truck and this thing is going come back scratched and dirty. They put me on a waiting list and I am in a new Taco until they are done with mine ('05)
So I am wondering what I should have them replace while the labor is free. The suspension on the new truck feels so good. I definitely want that done. Any other thoughts?

This dealer just asked me for $600 before replacing my frame, even though they ordered it and it came. They said they needed it for additional labor and hardware in-case certain nuts and bolts broke. The writer told me this was the request of the service manager. I told them I have seen the parts list included in the warranted swap job. I also told them I approve no additional labor but would pay for hardware. Anything else would have to be approved by me over the phone.
Did they hold you at ransom yet? Which Toyota entity should I call or should I call the law firm?

they break it they buy it. my control arm bolts were rusted in. new upper and lowers for me. no questions asked. they also tossed in a free rubber brake line. looked the old one wasn't handled carefully during the change. they would have also pooped in a new output shaft seal on teh transmission. well, they did pay for it, i put it in. they also tossed in a new battery free of charge... plus a 1K toyota anything you want to buy credit.
