Good luck on that. Many have tried. All have failed.

Why you ask? Because as has already been stated, the frame replacement program was not a voluntary recall. It was a court ordered settlement. Toyota has every right to say they've honored every aspect of that court order if your truck is past the cutoff date.

My brother in laws Tacoma’s frame was replaced on his 2005. I went to the dealer and got the anti-corrosion spray after I got the notice and the techs were trained in the application of it. I get yearly oil spray applied to the frame so hopefully corrosion is prevented.

The key point of submitting the truck under recall was so Toyota could examine the condition (at the time), and replace the frame immediately if necessary, or to apply the corrosion compound. Whether the compound ACTUALLY works to prevent the eventual demise of the frame can be debated, but they cannot be blamed when they weren't even given the opportunity to examine/apply it.

If the rules of the recall were followed, the corrosion inhibitor was applied, the frame still rusted beyond use within the warranty period, THEN Toyota refused to warrant the frame, that would have been another story.

Why are you spamming all over this forum your discontent with Toyota?
We all think you are wrong, so it can’t be for us. What do you get out of this? Does it make you feel better? Just don’t buy anything from Toyota if that’s what you want to do.

Instead of blaming everyone else (your son & Toyota) I think you should take a long look into a mirror :) If you were close to the deadline, your experience probably would have been a positive one. However, what you are/were asking for is unreasonable. Suck it up!

Not sure what kind of accommodation you were expecting, considering even IF you took the truck in during the time frame, it's still 6 years AFTER the extended warranty would have been applicable (if the truck was actually first put in service in 2005, make that 7 years) - or am I missing something on the math?

Being a "40 year customer, who has bought 5 Toyotas" doesn't play into it. If it was that the truck was done under the recall, then 1 year after the drop date the truck had a full hole (meaning it was degraded pretty bad before the hole was found), and they did absolutely nothing (maybe discount on a frame swap?), then I could see a valid complaint.

It's Toyota - not Costco. I would think even Costco would have a problem if you tried to return something 18 years later because you weren't satisfied...unless you had the receipt.

What’s wrong with you, seriously that’s not a rhetorical question?
