My 2006 Tacoma was approved for a frame replacement. I asked ahead of time if I could get a small truck or suv for my loaner vehicle. They gave me a 2017 Trd offroad with 5 miles on it.

Here's something my agent told me. When you know you're going to be renting a car, put "loss of use" coverage on your insurance. Then when you're done with the rental, take it back off. It's really cheap insurance. If you don't have it and you wreck the rental vehicle, the rental company is going to charge you full bore rental rates for every day that it's not available for rental. He told me that 1 of his customers rented an exotic a car in Hawaii and wrecked it. He didn't have loss of use coverage and he got a bill for many thousand dollars. I don't remember that amount, but it was a LOT.

I heard yesterday when I picked up my rental that they replace the leaf springs and add a leaf ? Did anyone else hear about that?

Leaf packs will be replaced under the recall. They put the 3 leaf +overload on mine.

    Yep.
Has the Dec 2, 2016 ownership date changed or is that still the cutoff date?

If it hasn't changed, has anyone with a post December ownership been able to comply with the settlement?

That was one of the appeal issues, and though there has been no official action on the appeals that I can find Toyota seems to have acquiesced to the appealed issues and decided to go ahead with the remedy. Though it does seem they are starting with the rust-belt states...
