Took my MI based 2005 in for inspection and it failed, I drop it off (safety issue) and pick up a rental Monday. Hoping there is a huge stack of frames out there somewhere so I don’t have to wait forever.

Got the mail on Friday and Toyota sent me the zh6-warranty enhancement notification. I guess they want me to bring my Tacoma with its new frame in to have it checked for frame corrosion already.

Mine was not, it should have been along with the rear bumper. I can't even get a hitch into the receiver it is so rusted, and the bumper is rusting through on each point where it mounts to the frame.

I live in Toronto, Canada and have a 2007 truck that was built/brought over from the states in 2008.

I found a hole in my frame underneath some old undercoating that I was scraping off. Hole is about 30mm in diameter and is on the right side of the frame by the CAT. Im also seeing a fair amount of de-lamination in the frame rails.

Took it into a local dealer and everybody kept trying to tell me that the recall ended, nobody had any information on it at all and all my questions basically went un-answered. I even called Toyota Canada to ask about the frame recall and the guy on the phone said "I dont have anything in my system showing the recall", and when I asked to speak to somebody who would know, he just repeated the "Well its not in our system" thing and then went silent.

    Completely useless..

Truck had a frame inspection in March of this year, they missed the hole (clearly) and gave me a green light for the frame.

I went back and had a second inspection last week since discovering this perforation in my frame, they took pictures and sent them to Toyota for 'approval' but didnt give me ANY details about anything. Ive been completely in the dark this whole time, and everyone I ask has no idea what theyre talking about. Even though this has been a big, widely known issue for years..

Sounds like you need to take it to a dealer in the US. Since it was originally sold in the US, theoretically, it should qualify for a new frame in the US. It's worth a shot.

@NeonHeights Sorry to hear you having such an issue with your local dealer. I myself had to take control and educate my local dealer about the settlement.
I'm not 100% sure on this without reading the longform notice from the settlement but I believe the settlement states it covers the continental United States and Territories.
This may be why your dealer does not have notice from Toyota...
The number to reach Toyota Customer Experience Center is: 1800-331-4331.
I emailed pics before calling and was given a case number to refer to when calling back.
Upon Final Order I got in touch with T.E.C. and was given the go ahead to get it inspected, only to have my dealer tell me the same thing yours did. Well, I called T.E.C. back and stated my issue. Within a few moments the Toyota Operator had me on a conference call with my local dealers Service Manager to schedule an appointment.

I hope you would not have to cross the border to get your frame replaced.. seeings how the truck was U.S. Native, it should be covered regardless.
    Good Luck, Eh!:fistbump:

Well Taco Brothers/Sisters, I have an issue after frame swap...
Couple actually, but, I can live with replacing a couple body clips and a bolt or two.

My biggest and dangerous issue I have is what Jeepers call, "Death wobble".
I didn't have it prior to frame replacement and my lift was installed prior to replacement also, so I rule the lift out of the equation.
    It's only on braking.
Soon as I got the truck back I replaced the front rotors. Contemplating on doing calipers, due to old pad guides, as I've heard this may cause the pad to get 'lodged' and cause an issue on braking.
Other option I thought of was tie-rod ends...
It looks like Jaws tried taking a bite out of both sides with the Channel-Lock scars in the adjustment sleeves...
    Anybody else have suggestions?

Bring it back and have the dealer fix it.
    Wasn’t a pre-existing condition.

I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I bought rear drums from Advanced and they didn't have tierods in stock so drums tomorrow morning, balance/rotate tires, and an alignment.
    Thank you for the reply.

Yes. Did the rotate, balance, and alignment and according to the alignment tech, it was 'outside of where they like it to be'.
    It made a big difference.

Yes sir. I am sueing Toyota for covering up a potentially dangerous manufactures defect ( CRC undercoating ) and releasing my truck with an outstanding recalls (leaf springs)
    Small claims in Canada.

There's a Canadian class action suit re: the frames that was apparently initiated in November of 2016, and amended in March of this year. However it is not clear from the extremely vague website if it has even been pursued beyond that...
