    its steel so its gonna rust to some extent. its not rust-proof. i dunno if theres a way to tell what was made before or after this was fixed. hopefully it was fixed before they built mine!

    I heard from a guy I know that used to work for Toyota Corporate that the frames won't be coated properly till the 3rd Gen Tacomas that come out this fall .

    Undercoat when buying your truck new will make it last a lot longer - very simple yes or no answer at the time of purchase we all make - FOR ANY OEM

    Frame will rust if you live in the salt belt..all metal rusts here. Live and learn - I know the truth hurts and I of all people Fricken hate rust.

    It would be an industry evolution if they had frames that didn't rust, but that new carbon/steel shit in a frame might not rust, but would cost a bundle. Maybe Aluminium frames lighter not as rust prone:) Or who knows someday everything will be plastic right?
