He couldn't say. Just "October", and we will be contacted when a remedy is ready. In the meantime, my Tacoma is gathering dust.

I went to one dealer and they told me they were going to order the part, then schedule it once it came in. I didnt hear anything after 3 weeks, so i called and they said they couldn’t order it until they scheduled and appointment..which the earliest was the middle of October

I called another dealer, they ordered the part and 2 days later they called me to schedule the repair. Just did that on Monday. According to the paper, its only 1.6 labor.

I dont know why this is so difficult to get done... and theres no consistency.

Glad you got some action, but is it the new, improved part? I was told they are still working on a remedy for the Tacoma, and that they could replace mine but it would be with the same pump that is being recalled. I said "no thanks".

If the truck is being financed, or owned out right, Toyota CAN'T keep your truck. Any lawyer will tell Toyota to sell a new truck that works, that doesn't need new parts that aren't available, to run. Sell a safe, finished truck. And you guys crack own the American auto manufactures, what bull shit. Factory wants to keep your new vehicle because it's unsafe from the factory, perfect.

So what is your solution? Buy a piece of shit from one of the Big 3? Or a shitty Jeep? You don't seem to realize that the majority of vehicles now have and will have issues due to the technology and complexity. I would prefer to have a Toyota and know the dealership will try their hardest to keep me happy. I had a new GM that had electrical issues and GM tried to make me pay out of pocket for diagnostics that supposedly not covered by their "Bumper to bumper warranty". Interestingly enough I did not have to pay them as it was actually covered. I'll stick to my Toyota!

My truck has been parked the longest at the dealer. Parked there since March 2nd before the world shut down.
The dealer shut its doors and reopened in May under new ownership.
I am now on my second rental “loaner”.
I’ve called Toyota customer service so many times I can’t remember.

My last conversation with Toyota Corp, they were prepaid to move me in to the next phase of purchasing my truck back.
I’m not ready to let go my Cav blue yet.

Just found an update to the recall notice for Tacoma fuel pumps, posted today. Says the remedy for Tacoma's is now available. Called the dealership and they confirmed it, but said it will take them 4-6 weeks to get the new part in, and they will call when it arrives. Now playing Waiting Game 2.0.

Just got off the phone with the dealership. Parts back ordered until November. They told me to call back in November.

can someone help me understand what exactly happens with toyota when you get this problem?

do they provide a complimentary loaner? or do they just tell you that you are fucked and should find your own way get around? because if it is the latter, this will probably be the first and last toyota i ever own.

Does this affect all 3rd Gen Tacomas? I punched in the VIN on my 2019 DC at the NHTSA website and the response was that there were no recalls on that vehicle.

There were a few people that had the recall letter, then inputted the vin and their specific truck was not affected.

I just got my truck on Aug. 31 and found out there's a recall. So I called a week or so ago about it and they scheduled an appointment for me this Monday (Oct. 6) to get a replacement installed. Do you guys think that they already knew that the good ones would be coming in or are they going to replace mine with another faulty one?
