Honestly if I was to guess, I would guess its a faulty one. You should ask them, worst they can do is lie to you and later down the line they will need to replace again.

I didn't receive a letter. I just checked at both the NHTSA and Toyota websites. I knew that there was a Tundra recall, because the dealer had three 2019s left overs that they couldn't sell due to the pending recall. That was back in late May/early June.

The service writer I deal with told me about the parts backlog as well. It's good to know a guy that will give you good information. He's the one that told me not to get the extended warranty, but to get the wheel/tire warranty.

Does anyone know if they put a different pump in the 2020 and 2021 trucks?

geejus. glad i traded out my 2019 trd offroad for a 2020 titan pro4x. they are not perfect either- it was missing the electric locking tailgate from factory but the dealer resolved within 4 days.

Trading one set of issues for another......Titans have been known to shut down at speed as well.

    https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/nissan-titan-pickup-truck-recall-electrical-issues/

Almost everyone who uses the Denso pump has a recall - Honda, Subaru, Toyota. It has become a big issue on this forum mainly because people won't stop obsessing over it.

The fix has been out for awhile - the Tacoma was just slated to have a later roll out as opposed to other models. The truck will be out of service less than a day.

Glad you traded over a solved fuel pump issue? I had a 1st Gen Titan for years and would never wish a 2nd Gen on my worst enemy. Hopefully you have good luck but I wouldn't bank on it. I found the Nissan dealerships were completely useless. I am a member of RTT and TT still and just shocked at the issues 2nd Gen's are having. The 2020 Pro4x sure looks good though.

Toyota has put me in a loaner. I needed a truck for work, and they didn’t have any. So they used their account at Enterprise to put me in a Ram 1500. Joy. 2 months and counting with no end in sight.

Just wondering. How did you get notified to bring the truck in for the recall fix? I got my letter months ago, but haven't heard anything.

Got a call from the dealer today to make an appointment. Asked for tank to be at least 1/4 full. Said 4-5 hours. Goes in next Friday.

I had not inquired on the repair...

The longest thread in the 2nd gen section on TT is about engine knock and engine replacement. Also a problem with 2nd gen Armadas which is why we just traded my wife's 2017 for a new Highlander.

I just got a Text from my dealer "Good morning Andy, we just got fuel pump parts in for Tacomas. I have already assigned your truck to a tech to be started today." Finally some light!

I just called my dealer and they said I need to have the exact mileage of the vehicle before they can order the part. It's no big deal, but I can't understand what mileage would have to do with ordering the correct part. By the way my truck has a little over 33,000 on it.

I wonder why they need mileage to order a part?
