You may be right but it has been this way since day one. I just figured it was an overrated V6. If I owned the thing I would change the inner cooler and reprogram it and make it run but the company I work for owns the truck so I just drive it. Lol

It tells you a lot about the quality of the vehicle if the rear seat-pull material and lack of hood struts are the only thing left to complain about.

Is your wife not around to help?
If you talk nice, she can probably not only help you heave the heavy hood up, but also show you how to change the oil.

Do the Ridgeline folks bitch as much as Tacoma 3rd gen owners?

If Honda really wanted to lambaste Toyota they could do a reverse commercial of a Ridgeline owner enjoying life as the Tacoma owner sits on TW bitching about their truck. This should give you an idea. This is life.

The cartridge oil filter as been in the 2GR engine exactly as it is now for over 16 years. Debuted in 2004.

Why do people still find it shocking?

The creases in the hood of my Cutlass would disagree with you about the quality and "never failed" bit...
Those springs failed like crazy as they aged.

No truck is ever going to be perfect. I bet I could find likes/dislikes about every vehicle. Even if I built my own with every feature I think I'd want, I'd forget something or something that I don't have would come out the next year

There have been many sold at around $60ish on fleabay.
Just do a save search and jump when they come up. Easy. Better than $139.
