My parents have an 06 Highlander with the v6 and they aren't getting the mileage they expected. They get about 20-22, you cant get over 22 no matter how you drive, anyways I believe it has something to do with the drive train. If your driving and you let off the gas you slow down pretty fast, and if your stopped and in neutral you can barely move it by pushing it, every other vehicle I've pushed can be pushed fairly easily. And its not the brakes. Is this normal and just because of the no transfer case auto 4wd thing or what?

Possibly the gearing? Maybe the E-brake cable is locked up a little it?

Do they service the vehicle regularly? Plugs, tranny fluid, oil change, engine air filter...

No that's been checked, its free
Yes, its maintained very well my dad does everything. It has 65000 miles and what i can remember the tranny was flushed just before they bought it (60000 mi) the engine and front and rear diff was changed (amsoil) and a k&n drop in filter.

I'm really just wondering if so much drag is normal on the 1st Gen Highlanders?
