The diesel is not sold in Mexico, neither is the 4x4. They make you get the top of line Tacoma if you want a 4x4 in Mexico. The Amarok is available in 4x4 with a rear locker top of the line model "highline" $36.5k at the current rate. They're rated at 30.5 mpg hw, not bad. That's why I like diesel, specially in Mexico where it's not more expensive like in the USA

They do have the base Nissan NP300 in 4x4 diesel and also the Mitsubishi L200 4x4 diesel with a few more luxuries but it's ugly as sin imo. In Mexico there's no bartering on new vehicles, it's what the sticker reads nationwide which is weird for a bartering culture. But if you have dollars and catch the peso at a good exchange rate like 15 to 1, you can get a great deal.

 

Saw a few of these in Dominican... Quite a few Tacos too..
