One of my females, "hula hoop", won one of the bear treeing events at the American Plott Assoc breed days in Greeneville, TN. I put her in four bear tree event and she finished 2nd twice, 3rd, and 1st place. However, if you read closely you'll see the plaque states "coon treeing event #4". Unfortunately the "bear treeing event #4" plaque was accidentally given to the coon guy who had left before noticing the error. Oh well. I was thoroughly impressed with how my dogs did at this event.

I run Deer with hounds in Florida. I only signed up to this forum because I saw no one had checked the "Deer" box. It's my passion. Been running deer with hounds for all of my 38 years. A Toyota is the best way to get around these wet woods. Here are a couple pics of mine. and a few pics of a couple on the box (if that is acceptable).DSCI0005.jpg DSCI0005.jpg IMG_20101224_090151.jpg IMG_20111210_170010.jpg 2013-01-02_13-13-50_205.jpg

    sweet rig!
yeah i put Deer as an option because i know it's a big thing down south. i was recently talking to somebody that here, in Michigan, we consider a dog running deer to be "trashy" and a lot of dogs that trash out on deer up here get shot. I'm pretty sure it's legal to run dogs on deer here but its extremely frowned upon and not worth getting your dogs shot by some a-hole. we were saying "maybe it would be better to sell them to someone who ACTUALLY RUN DEER with their dogs".
keep up the good work running them hounds no matter what your game is.

Thanks, I put more time and money into it than what it's worth.

There's nothing like listening to a pack of hounds doing what they're bred for. Some folks that don't understand it look down on deer hunting with dogs here too. They think it's easy and unsporting. If they actually knew how much time, effort and money went into training and keeping a pack of hounds, I think most would think a little differently. There probably is a market for your "trash" dogs down here. Not many bears in this particular part of Fl to worry about them "trashing" on.

Ill look ya up if I ever have a hound that prefers white tail. And you damn right about what kinda effort goes into making a hound let alone a pack of them.

I don't have pictures on my iPad of my lab, Bocephus, or my new-to-me 2014 Tacoma OR. I duck hunt and fish.

    Great photos and trucks.

A lot of hard work during training season is really paying off here in Michigan kill season. 6 tags filled with my hounds with the possibility of a couple more as the season goes on till the end of October.

Benni, my Jack-Russell/Rat Terrier mix is a rodent hunter by breed. She's killed some rats and squirrels. She's about 10 years old now and has shown no signs of slowing down, despite getting going grey in the face

Probably the last bear of the season for me and my dogs here in Michigan and a damn good one at that. We helped this older gentleman get the biggest black bear of his life at 440#. Treed the bear with only 2 of my dogs.

No hound, but train and hunt with a black lab. This is our humble set up.

His second hunt a couple weeks back with my hunting partner. The dog did nice work and we and ended up with a banded mallard hen. First duck band for me, only geese up until this point.

And finished the summer up with a 3rd at the last Junior(Derby) Field Trial in our area. Went 3/3 for our Junior Hunter title and 2/2 in trials with a Reserve Jam and the 3rd. Hoping we'll be ready to run Qual Trials and Master Hunters next summer, but that's going to take a lot more work.
