Same boat here. My box is 1/2 inch off side to side and my front tire to fender lip measures out 1 inch different.

It's going back tomorrow and they are sending it to a frame shop to get it measured. Not holding my breath that it'll be resolved.

My experience with this process so far has been awful...

Damn, it sounds like what I was suspecting. Looks like there was a batch of frames made at the plant that were built incorrectly. Two of them now have reported here. That sucks. Hopefully corporate Toyoda steps up here.

The whole situation kinda sucks. I wish it never had to be replaced honestly. Can't replicate factory assembly at a dealership either.

Just so I'm not way off the mark, it's not normal to have a 1 inch difference from tire to fender clearance comparing driver to passenger right?

Also my box isn't crooked up or down but rather just off center in relation to the cab.

Are the frames bent or are the dimensions off in the welding of parts on.

If they are bent I could see that happening while they are being transported

Strap over a unsupported section then cranked down tight can bend things pretty easy

Then the techs doing the swap it`s just another piece to cycle in and out

In fact the frame swap at the dealer is much better then the truck going down the line

    improved toyota goodness.
maybe someone else knows better than me and can chime in but I seem to recall that when I removed my leaf springs to replace them a few months back that one side was slightly shorter than the other... I never took pics as I was in a hurry so it is all in my head(no pun intended) but I know for sure that the new springs were the same lengths as the old springs because I measured them as it seemed odd they would be different... I want to say it was the drivers side spring that was the longer but I might be wrong...?

you cant measure the frame like youre doing you need a tram gauge. and you have to "X" out the measurements...

Are the springs on the right way? One might be backwards, thats pretty easy to mess up.

I was browsing and saw what sundowner wrote about bad frame. I also had my frame replaced with the same issue as sundowner described. A since then I have been looking at other gen1 and have found another one with frame built wrong. Just wanted to let you know your not alone sundowner.
