This, that, & the other thing
Unfortunately, they're all POS's nowadays. We work on every brand in our shop and they all have their problems, or just simply things that I couldn't personally live with in a truck. Quality has taken a back seat to what's "in" now. I'm in the same boat, just sold my 3rd gen and bought a 6000 mile FJ Cruiser, because we still have our other one and I just don't have the problems with it that I had with the tacoma. I'll keep my '07 GMC for when I need to haul or I'll use one of my trailers until they put out a better semi-compact truck with the reliability and features that I want. I've had probably 20 Toyotas since I was 15 and never had any issues until this truck, which sucks, because in some ways, I'll always like the 3rd gens. My lead technician was jealous that I had a new truck, so he went out in late March and bought a brand spanky new '16 Silverado k1500 LT2. He's had it back to the dealership I think 5 times now for various problems, and just got another drivetrain code this morning, so he's all pissed off. And he paid like 10 grand more for his truck than I did for mine, so the margin for factory defects on new trucks has widened significantly since the '90's. It'll be interesting to see what you end up with. Good Luck, man!
