So says the sales manager at the dealership where I bought my truck.

    We'll soon see.

Doubt if a manual will get Toyota the emissions numbers Toyota seeks, not with a turbo4. The mythical 6th gen 4R wouldn't get a manual after two generations of no manual option. No other manufacturer offers a manual in anything other than a sports car, except for the Bronco and Wrangler based products there are no other midsize pickups with a manual. Why would the next gen Tacoma that will be equipped with a hybrid option, and rumored electrification receive a manual?

It’s a well-known fact that Toyota corporate in Japan and in the US runs everything past your local sales manager first.

Did he mention if you wanted to put a deposit on a truck that doesn't exist? :p

I was surprised, of course. My money is on it will be discontinued. That's why I got mine when I did.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I read an interesting article the other day. Apparently MT is seeing something of a revival in the US because of the Millennial generation. A bunch of kids suddenly want MT again. It never really went away anywhere but north America. A high percentage of Europeans still drive stick, as do Asians

According to highly reliable news media, millennials make up 30 to 35% of the car market, so I hope whatever shit they want to buy isn’t too stupid, because I’m guessing they’re going to be the next demographic to be courted.

Clearly carmakers are not interested in what I want.

A Hybrid MT would be neat.

My buddy is a GM of a big Toyota dealership in Vancouver, he says he expects late 2024 as a 2025 Model Year. He also says he hasn’t heard any reputable rumours aside from an update coming at the national convention. So take that with a grain of salt.

that’s usually how it works for the 30-40 age group. They have jobs and kids and a controlling market share… boomers are out and so are your terrible “taste” of the 70s and 80s.. if you can even call it that

    millennials arent 18 anymore

The Tundra, Sequoia, and HIghlander have the new generations. Tacoma and 4Runner are next and probably announced close to each other. I say this year after the summer they will reveal the new gen. Tacoma and 4runner.

Millennials want a Buick Enclave or VW Atlas with a 5year loan @ a 4to5% interest rate.
