Lemon doesn’t always mean the same thing in each state. Some lemon laws state that if it’s in for repair for a certain amount of time (could be a single repair or many repairs) then it may qualify. It’s a valid course of action because then Toyota will get involved as well.

Can you ask them what size tires we can fit onto our Tacomas without rubbing?

Speaking from experience, each state has their own Lemon Law standards. My Lemon Law experience was in New Mexico. In New Mexico, there are specific guidelines that are followed. There was a arbitrator that mediated this process. If I remember correctly, the decision is final. In my case, the dealership bought back my vehicle plus the interest on the loan. My lawyer started the initial process. Lawyer fees were less than two hundred dollars.

When I blew the trans in my brand new Frontier, it took over a month for them to rebuild. Think a loaner camry is shitty? Try driving a 2000 Sentry M/T.

As it turns out, the reason why it took so long was because they flew in some regional reps/engineers to determine the cause of the failure. Meaning, if they could prove abuse, it was coming out of my wallet, not theirs. :anonymous:

For those going through this in the future, I strongly suggest learning the art of assertive politeness. If you go in pulling a full 8.0 on the Karen scale, things might not always go in your favor.

Because no one can say anything for fear of everyone lawyering up, most likely.

An antagonistic situation stops people from communicating. Especially once “corporate” is involved.
