If you're ever in Provo, UT there's a toyota dealer there with 5 or 6 really cool vintage Toyotas in a room off the showroom. One is an old FJ, another is a 60's Corona or Crown or something. Worth popping in there to take a look and see how far Toyota has come.

It was the Iron Man Ivan that got me hooked on Toyota, it was the inspiration behind my 91, I miss that truck..

I need to check this out someday. I had the pleasure of meeting Ivan Stewart back in 2001. I was really young at the time but I remember he was just sitting on a curb outside the hotel and we went and sat down with him and started chatting. It was a big TTORA Meet in Moab, UT. They had him and some of the main Tacoma engineers out there to unveil the NEW four door first gen! Ivan Stewart drove them around offroad. These trucks are so capable stock. I thought to myself "great, if he rolls this he's going to kill off the engineers and there goes the Tacoma" LOL but went right up everything. I learned some offroading techniques from him that my father and I still use today. I'd love to meet him again.

 

I've always wanted one of those Ivan Stewart offroad racing games. I'd always end up losing because I'd fall on the floor laughing at the noise the game would make when it warned you there was one lap left

The trick to Ivan's Off-Road was flick spinning the steering wheel and catching it when done turning. It was the same for Super Sprint.

 

Great additions, thats pretty amazing to meet the "Iron Man" in person. I just touched the truck in the museum and saw the dirt and dust in the cab and got a total rush (that truck is epic). HAHA and that video, gotta love 80's video games

 

This little gem is sitting at my wife's grandpa's. Bought it new in the 80s when the V6 first came out.
