I think its unfortunate that they couldnt come up with a nicer, more modern dash. It looks exactly like the Escape...which is also fairly tacky especially the center portion...

I totally agree. The whole reason you buy this truck though is its offroad capability. But The seats do look superior to anything toyota uses. I hate the seats in my tacoma they have the worst thigh support of any vehicle I have ever sat in. The seats in my taco were made for some one who is not taller than 5'6" and I am 6'2"

Don't know what kind of Taco you have but the seats in my Sport are by far the best seats I've ever sat in, and I'm 6'3".

The neat thing is that at about $38 grand, 5 years later when everything is breaking on it, you'll probably consider yourself fortunate to get half of that in re-sale.

That's not the raptor's dash. I think that's one of Platinum dashes or something. The stock is black and the one with the orange accents is optional.

I don't own a Tacoma, but wanted one for a long time until I decided to wait and see what Toyota does for 2011/2012 if/when they do a redesign and up the motor. Came very close to buying a used 2007 TRD Sport in Indigo, but couldn't swing it. I'm waiting to see what the 6.2L possesses and what supercharger options there are in the future. Overall I think Ford has done a good thing for the truck community. The only bad thing to me is that I don't think I can fit it in my garage!

    Here's the Raptor's dashes:

For 40,000 I would rather buy a Prerunner SR5 (No TRD Package) and add all my stuff to it. A Long Travel Kit, A Supercharger, Some Headers, A Nice Leaf Pack...and so on. By the time I spend my 40,000 with a Tacoma, the ford raptor looks like a POS.

I agree that an offroad truck out of the factory is nice and convenient. But if you really want a REAL offroad truck, customizing your own is the way to go.

LOL. have you ever sat in an AUDI or BMW or AMG mercedes? These seats barely go half way down your thigh, there is virtually no thigh support. Hell even my 2001 GMC had better seats than in the Taco. You are very misinformed.

We're talking about a truck though...these are almost exactly like what was in my Matrix, and they were perfect on my 3,000 mile trip to Iowa and back. Oh and I'm 5'11".

haha umm how can I be misinformed about how comfortable I find myself in these seats? That's a matter of opinion, not fact. You're misinformed if you think a $30k midsize truck should have seats like an AMG vehicle costing at minimum twice as much and is more prone to aggresive driving. Never said these were the greatest seats ever manufactured and put into a vehicle in the history of the automobile. All I said was they were the best seats I've been in, but I don't routinely sit in AMG and BMW's. I still find they offer very good lateral support and I found them more comfortable than the other trucks I was looking at.

I'm sorry for your dissapointment in Toyota for not putting Recaro's in this truck. An S4 and a Tacoma aren't even remotely comparable.

BTW, what year S4 did ya have?

They just need more thigh suppport for people that have longer than a 15 inch inseam.

I get the feeling that the Raptor is modeled more so after a trophy truck for dune running where I am more into hitting up mountain trails.

I think our differing opinions come in that we're coming from 2 opposite ends of the spectrum. You're coming from Recaro sport seats whereas I'm coming from vehicles that offered no support any which way lol. The '99 Grand Am I had as my first car had okay seats, the 07 Impala SS I had before the Taco had no support anywhere and with the leather it was like I was sliding all over just pulling into the driveway.

And that's exactly what it's for. Those who don't want to go running through the desert would really have no need for that truck.

WHOLEY CRAP! that Ford has an Ugly interior. I hate to say it, but regardless of how good it may be off road, I would be punching myself in the face all the while I was behind the wheel.

I think that whole black center stack is what really throws off the interior. I don't like that aspect at all. I really liked the interior of previous gen F150(04-09?)

it seems to have a nice chassis configuration, better than any other factory truck I have ever seen that is for sure. now all ford needs to do is make it have a nice interior and be reliable and I think they can get away with charging $40,000+ for it.
