You are the one who said you wish Toyota made a similar vehicle in the 2nd Gen Tacoma forum. If you weren't comparing the Raptor to a Tacoma, why are you posting it here?

And I'd still like to see a comparison between the Tacoma and Raptor. Could you imagine if the Tacoma kicked it's ass? Hilarity would ensue.

Personally, Warrenties dont give me peice of mind. My Dodge had a 70K warranty, but it was in the fucking shop all the time.

^True. Sure, a warranty is nice but my time is worth a lot, too.

I do think it'd be cool to see a tacoma built for the same price range and see how they'd both stack up. However keeping in mind toyota runs a lot more to start with... if you made an arguably 'compariable' adjustment to 42k or so, you could drop in the trd supercharger with the LT suspension....

^Good point. Power levels would be similar.

I like how some folks talk about "WHEN Ford puts the 400hp 6.2L in the Raptor....", lol, comparing a truck that doesn't even exist. Ford has cancelled plenty of SVT projects in the past, I'll believe the 6.2L story when I see it.

Why are we talking about a piece of shit Ford? If ya like the Raptor so much, go buy one...drop us a note when the fucking thing falls apart and you went back to the Taco!
No disrespect...i'm just saying. If ya wanna go 100mph off road...invest in the allpro L/T kit w/ baja fenders and a s/c....it'd all be cheaper than 38k lol

Nope, I never made a direct comparison. It is hard for me to believe that is someone takes the time to analyze then comment that they still totally take the verbiage they want to hear. Where did I mention Tacoma. I said Toyota. I wish Toyota would make a competitor, lets see I guess the Tundra would be the best candidate for this upgrade, but I never insinuated Tacoma.
I still love you, even though you can't read. :)

i think how much dislike some have towards Ford is funny... they made a specialty truck that has some top of the line components and i think it looks nice.... and ford trucks are pretty reliable, they been making them the same for a long time... i would like to see toyota come out with some sort of specialty vehicle, sports car, rally truck whatever but make an attempt

Reliable as in thrown rod bearing at 16k, fail to start twice for no reason (only to start fine 12hr later), and complete fuel cut... all before 28k on the odo all maint kept up. Yea, Ford Ranger. Awesome stuff. Quality lol........

    NONE.
never had any ford trucks but had a few cars/ van in the 90s-2006 and they all fell apart at around 70k miles =/ but, people say that they shaped up and are doing alright now. On the other hand my tacoma has ~268k miles and i have never done anything to it but put tires on it and change the oil. =)

I had a '94 ranger that I drove to the bone yard with 317k on the odo. It NEVER left me stranded anywhere. The only thing I did outside of regular maintenance was to replace the rear shackles. Hell, even my clutch lasted 210k. Not even the TFI module had to be replaced, which is the weak link in Ford's ignition, like the ballast resistor is/was in Chrysler's ignition.

I'd be driving a Sport Trac right now if it came with a 6' bed, instead of the Tacoma.
