Nah. Lot of good things about its lack of sound anything, bouncy ride, next to zero acceleration, and the aerodynamic qualities of a large brick.

And for some reason.... I really like the square headlights.

Toyota USA is canceling the 200LC series, with no clear stance on the 300LC series.

Toyota won’t bring the 79LC series over, or the Hilux.

I wish it wasn’t the case, but serious trucks don’t sell well in America. Curb appeal is what people want.

Considering Toyoda,s first truck and cars out the door had all GM parts , I can see Toyota going back to GM again for more parts or possibly borrowing parts from Ford again .
    Horrible

bringing the hilux here to compete with the best-selling midsize truck in America, the Tacoma, makes no financial sense whatsoever. The Tacoma also has a nicer ride than the Hilux.

You.... Need to put the mary jane down.

Just don't buy their shit, money talks, until they earn our business again- they need to do some serious marketing research. I'm absolutely not buying a 3rd Gen and if they don't take a hard turn to compete with the domestic offerings I'm buying American again. It's almost guaranteed the next gen will be a hybrid, I can accept that, but we need interior amenities and full offroad options from the factory. If I keep a domestic 10-20 years then resale value is a mute point, because that's what's been forced upon me with my second gen.

So... What does the Ranger have that the Tacoma doesn't? What does the Colorado offer that the Tacoma doesn't?

I have not read all 31 pages, but if you can spend 60k on a truck right off the lot, you can build the truck your wanting.
diesel toys Toyota 1KD-FTV conversion kit. They will do it for 28k that is with a manual.
    get whatever suspension your wanting.
    get whatever wheels your wanting.
    Get whatever tires your wanting.
    BAM, there’s your truck.

I do believe Toyota should be offering a Diesel Version, but I do think the premium on that option would scare some buyers away. I love that jeep now has the gladiator, it was a LONG time coming, and I do believe its a good platform, especially with the diesel motor. sadly though 52k for a ecodiesel rubicon gladiator is out of the question... my tacoma serves me well, and goes where i want. sure i dont have 440ftlbs of torque.. but I also dont need that either. the fuel mileage would be great though...

The Toyota Hilux I see in Baja Ca looks like the new ranger. Pretty sure its diesel as well. I’d buy one.

I absolutely love my 3rd gen.

Looks amazing, good power, good on gas, smooth/quiet engine, perfect size for me, good off road, been rock solid and i get compliments all the time.

Dont understand why some peeps hate on 3rd gen so much.

I didn't recognize any GM or Ford parts on this great, great grandfather to the Tacoma. 1967 or 68 if I remember correctly.

Toyota has done market research and that is why they are selling more Tacoma's now than ever and dominate the Mid-sized truck category by a huge margin.
Seatbelt Mike talked about market research when the 3rd Gen came out and the most important thing to over 80 percent of buyers was QDR (Quality, Dependability, and Reliability).
If you want fancy unreliable electronic gizmos then Fiat/Chrysler would be a good choice then you can sample the stale coffee and doughnuts at the service department.

I thought about going to look at and test drive a 3rd gen today. Then I think abou it. Do I really want a 3rd gen Tacoma?

I have noticed that the used inventory of Tacomas at dealerships does not seem to be moving.
