Correct me if I'm wrong but this hasn't (yet...) been extended to '13-'15 has it?

It seems to be dealership specific.

Interesting. I've seen reports on here of '13-'15's having the same issue as the '12's (even though '13 and onward were allegedly fixed) so I can only hope that if mine starts acting up that the new warranty coverage will have been extended by then.....it's a damn expensive part to have to repair out of pocket.

Yeah, me on a low mi '14. Went limp out in nowhere. I've posted a number of times about the matter. The SAI system is pure evil...

To my knowledge Toyota is only covering it on the 2012.

    **Unlike**

That sucks man. Hopefully you can get hooked up with parts or look into the bypass solution. I'm hoping since I'm in Arizona and the thought is excessive moisture in the system leads to rusting of the pump.....that it helps being down here but it may just be a lottery of which pumps go out and which don't, I dunno.

The pump Toyota replaced on mine looks different then the original pump. I was told its been redisgned to correct the prior deficinces.

Can you post a pic of the pump on your 2013?

Couldn’t this be fully deleted with hptuners and some block off plates? Or atleast those of us with access to the program. $200 in credits to unlock the ecm and disable the codes doesn’t seem bad vs if you had to pay out of pocket to replace it.

Yes, but add an additional $300 for the MPVI2 device if you don’t know anybody with one.

Yea I have the mpvi2 pro that I used with my c5.. but could still be cheaper than dealership prices possibly

No doubt. Not even close in comparison to having the dealer do anything with the SAI. Only problem are the poor bastards in Cali, subject to visual SMOG test.

    Hi everyone,

Today my 2012 tacoma had the p2440/p2442 problem, can someone please provide me with the link for the tsb so that I can show it directly to Toyota when I take it in tomorrow. I don’t want them to debate with me on the extended warranty for this problem. Ps I never received the letter that I’m aware of.

    thanks!

I know, i got the TRAC off light on and got the MIL than went into limp mode. I checked my codes and it all had to do with the secondary Air injection Pump. Cleared codes TRAC re-enabled automatically and got outta limp mode. But it was so weird.

@Muddinfun i would like the actual tsb that shows it’s valid in Canada since I didn’t get the letter. I will be phoning Toyota tomorrow, I just know they can be pricks to deal with.
