To those who have the Toyota OEM cargo divider, can you please provide install help to a noob?

I bought one from CL and thought that I could just slide the assembled divider through the ends of the bed rail close to the tailgate. However, the divider seems too wide across to just easily slide in. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

BTW the OEM cargo divider is very sturdy and of good quality.

    Thx for your help.

I don't have a divider but have you tried starting one side and sliding it in a few inches before you slide the other side in? If it fits you can square it up when you get it in position. Maybe the bed is a little wider in the center. Good luck.

I have the OEM divider and when I slide it in the bed rails, I have to slightly loosen up the knobs the connect the divider to the brackets that go in the bed rails. It needs to have some room to slide

Been a while since I installed mine but I think I installed the brackets into the rail system first and then put the divider into the brackets. That make sense?

I originally tried to install the divider while it is assembled. So then it might be better if I installed the side mounting brackets first?
